Scored THIS one off the bay tonight, I'm hoping it's as nice as the seller says it is. I may have paid a bit more than I was hoping, but I think it will be worth it in the end. *poor sellers pic* Well, it arrived today, but is not in the condition the seller described it as. won't run for more than a few seconds, and the crown is so tight I cannot set the time. The dial/hands are very nice, so in the end I think it will be worth saving. Fantastic bit of news, I found an NOS crystal in the box I picked up on the Bay last week! woohoo-dancing-banana-smiley-emoticon

Very nice ! thunbsup.gif
Just my kind of thing. You think you paid too much ? You young people laugh1.gif are so lucky to be able to get that sort of watch at that price ! I'm obviously looking in the wrong places.

Looks like a winner! I love Sportsmatics! I got this '67 from a well-known thrift store's auction website. Paid $67 for it, and I think a lot of people were turned off by the description of it "running and stopping". Like most Sportsmatics, the damned thing runs great! I even picked it up in person because it was being auctioned nearby.

Well done Tim. Wouldn't it be sweet if you found that one of your crystals would fit it too ?
Good price as well IMHO. I'm sure that watch would have fetched more here in pounds than what it cost in dollars. You guys in the States are spoilt, EVERYTHING is so much cheaper than here. deep-sigh-smiley-emoticon

Nice snag Tim . . . can't wait to see your pics. Thanks Bob, it will no doubt look better in person. I'm hoping to figure out what the OEM bracelet/band was for this one (BoR perhaps?), I'd like to get it back to original.

I saw that winding down - didn't seem like the price was too high to me. Can't wait to see how it comes out in the mail.

I do that and more times than not; they actually do laugh1.gif

Very much so...and with an extra bit of coaxing, it's currently chugging along.

Sometimes it is just a matter of working the bugs out and letting them run for awhile. Hell, she's probably not run since the Nixon Administration.
She has a beautiful face, so she is definitely worth saving! They don't make 'em like that anymore.
