I've been looking at this for the last day or so & would like to ask a bit of advice. I've never owned or seen one of these in the flesh but have read a lot about them & looked at a lot of photos over the past few years. To my eyes, it all looks right but I'd be glad of some input from the experts. Obviously, the movement calibre is correct but out of all the movement shots I've looked at, I've never seen a rotor marked like this on a 62mas. I doubt I'll be lucky enough to end up owning this but would like a better idea of what I'm bidding on. Thanks guys.

Lovely patina. I've been watching that one. Looks like the same rotor, just a different production. I've also only seen these markings:

And needless to say it is absolutely correct. I have only ever seen three other examples as complete and original as the one on ebay now, and one of those was mine! Most of the time I see the brown tint dials relumed in green, or the Danai caseback replaced with a dolphin one, or the rotor is plain etc, etc. It seems people don't realise how scarce these ones are and try and convert them to look more like the ubiquitous Suwa examples.

And as an aside the 62mas picture that estrickland posted is my 1966 one. Small world.

Thanks for the replies gents, particularly cannop, that's some excellent & informative information. Yes, case-back is just as you say & it is a '67 model. It'll be interesting to see where this one ends up, hopefully on my wrist but I doubt that somehow as I think a lot of people will have their eyes on this one & it may well fetch silly money.

One of the few times I've seen the words "Rare Seiko" used appropriately on EBay! Beautiful watch. Gonna go for stupid high $$$.

Saw the finished price and thought it was spot on. I sold mine 6 weeks ago for about a hundred quid more, but mine was professionally serviced with accompanying paperwork, and was running perfectly.

If it weren't for the scuff at 6 o'clock I would have been in it to win it - as it was I wasn't too far out.
Fair valuation I think. Beautiful watch.

We should archive this stuff. That's really interesting, I've never heard that before.

Archiving this information is a great idea. With the knowledge of some of the members here, maybe Wrist Sushi could come up with a 62MAS ' buyers/reference guide ' ? I know there's some info in the Divers Reference but the photos don't seem to load from here or anywhere else & I think the 62MAS deserves a thread of it's own. Just an thought.
