For not being a Seiko It's not too bad, At least it's not being passed off for an Original, Smiths doesn't even rhyme with Seiko smiley-sport038

I have a different view than most.
I really like the 6105's but don't currently own one. Would like to own a nice example but they are pretty expensive for my budget.
That said, I kind of like design and look of it. I don't know these will sell for but my guess is that they'll probably be about the same as a decent example of a 6105.

Thank you , Duncan. I remember hearing something about a model he offered having crystal issues, am I correct?

That I now the third in a flurry of 6105 homages.. What I can't understand, is why Seiko hasn't picked up on the opportunity and made a modern version.. I think that the 6105 dial was a significant influence on the Stargate dial.

Thank you , Duncan. I remember hearing something about a model he offered having crystal issues, am I correct? You are. The issue some of the Smiths Everests had with the crystal dropping out seems to be what has fuelled the majority of his negative criticism. Every Everest that has had that issue was addressed by either repairing or sending out replacement crystals. Most people were happy with the way Eddie dealt with the problem, but as always in cases such as these a few wanted everything done yesterday and others were never going to be placated no matter what Eddie did. It's very easy to create a stink in the small WIS world we inhabit if you're so inclined. The problem appeared to have been a tiny percentage of crystals were made ever so slightly out of tolerance and ended up being fitted, these were the ones that came out easily. The vast majority of Everests have no problems at all - including mine.

If the selling price is in the range of $500, I would rather buy the real thing. Love Eddies offerings (Precista, Smiths and Speedbird), but this one...I'm not really sure yet. While sub homages are abound, this is probably the first 6105 I've seen...such a close copy. If I had the money, I would probably spend it on a Dagaz.

I have the real thing (a few real things) but I'll still be after one of these, and one of Jakes. I think both are great interpretations of the original. I love 'em both.

I'm sure the parts are of good quality but as an homage it just feels a little back alley (picture seedy fellow opening up a rain coat lined with watches).

Perhaps it would have looked better, if it were not the for pale green lume.

Dial and bezel lume pip just looks too much like the repro stuff.
It's great, though, for guys who want the look...since I have a decent original, I don't think I'd wear the homage over it.

For me, its pretty close to a reproduction than a homage.
What i dislike the dial looks too much like those aftermarket (its alright is you are lusting over one) the green lume too the bezel pips ....ahhh the 9015 movement future customize is limited to Miyota dial type (of course there is the cut and paste method)
What i like the crown, the "S" is sexy, a little like the Sumo the solid end-lug bracelet
What is missing the wafer strap
Dont know the price yet, if its on par with Dagaz's Typhoon......the choice may be more obvious.

I really like the 9015 movement. But I take your point on dial issues should one want to change. Jake is using an NE15 so the world should be your oyster.
