Hi, I was hoping that some members would please tell me their opinion as to the originality of the parts on this (click on any image to embiggen): Thanks!

The lume pip in the bezel looks odd, especially in the first pic. Could be the picture though. The caseback text looks good from a font perspective but looks misaligned in relation to the serial number text. This could just be how it is, not necessarily an indicator of anything improper.
I would say legit, except for the insert...maybe.
Is there something you are worried about specifically?

Is there something you are worried about specifically? Yeah, I don't think the insert is original. The pip doesn't look right, the surface of the insert looks too smooth, and the point on the triangle around the pip comes to a point on the top of the insert which the originals don't. Everything else on the watch looks pretty good and pretty new so I just wanted a second opinion. Why would a watch this new looking have the bezel insert replaced?

looks fine too me. the only thing that seemed odd was the unsymmetrical spacing around the serial number. that was until l looked at mine. never noticed before. I'm not sure what the concern is with the pip triangle. I remember the point actually bends at the bottom on the little bevel of the inner diameter of the insert.

Thanks for the pictures, when you compare them to mine you can see what I'm concerned about. The triangle on yours only comes to a point after it wraps around the inside edge, mine comes to a point on the top of the insert. In addition, you can see that your lume pip is inset slightly whereas mine is flush with the insert surface. The lume on my lume pip is weak compared to that on my SKX173 whose bezel insert looks exactly like yours.

The font is dead on. 8 dots on either side of the pip and 3 everywhere else. Seiko has been known to make odd cosmetic changes to an existing model. They even recently changed the milling on the grip of the Sumo bezel. SKX models are surely on their way out so maybe the attention to the little details is slipping. JakeB has the insert for $20 and the complete bezel for $45 but indicated sold out on the web site. You could check and see if Harold has any or maybe just order from Seiko.
