Just picked THIS up on Ebay. 6139-7002 from November, 1971. It looked a little rough, but I felt like buying something to play with. Seller listed it as "not working". It arrived today (a day LATE). I took it out of the box, shook it, pushed the chrono start button, aaaannnddd.... IT FIRED RIGHT UP! Runs great, functions perfectly, and keeps great time. Movement has a mirror shine to it. I don't think there has been a whiff of moisture inside this watch EVER. Just cleaned it up a bit, resealed it, and swapped in a used but less scratched crystal (rust-orations have kinda been my thing lately). Has some dings, including a big hit on the bezel at about 9 o'clock. Case has some scratches and cuff polishing. Dial and hands are MINT, though I am not sure what to make of the mismatched chrono register and sweep hands. Don't know if the difference is from swapping or fading. No COSERV stamp, Spencer...and I was expecting one! Doubt it will see a whole lot of wrist time, but I think it was worth picking up!

Looks like you scored well with that one. It's a fine looking watch & the bracelet looks great too. Would the chrono & sweep hands be made from the same material on these ? I'm guessing they're both plastic ?
I've got a couple of 70m sport divers which should have orange seconds hands but they've faded to barely yellow. It must take a lot of sunshine exposure to do that.

The hands are painted metal on these, though they can often look a bit "plasticky".
I am not sure what the deal is with the fading, but I have seen a few other 6139-7002s with similar hands. Sometimes the sweep is a pale yellow and the register hand is off-white. Other times, the sweep is off-white and the register hand is pale yellow. And still other times...they match perfectly?
I am sure they were not sent out this way, but the mechanism by which they become mismatched is a bit of a mystery. It only seems to happen with the pale yellow/white hands?

I have a couple of these, they are quite weighty with the original bracelets, the grey dial is my preferred colour.
All the hands are metal and the colour of the chronograph hands seems to vary, I have seen, red, yellow and white. Which is correct I do not know, maybe all? Could Seiko catalogues provide the answer?
Mine has yellow hands

Nice watch! What kinda bracelet are you using? One of the first watches I ever restored was a blue-dialed 6139-7002. This would have been in about 2004-2005. It came from Australia, and back in the pre-Swedefreak days I spent $50 at a local jeweler getting the 340W14GN crystal polished out!

I don't know if my experience is indicative, but I've seen a few of the sub register hands that have faded in a similar way. Very nice example, I love when a "non-worker" fires right up like this! Congrats!
