Hi Guys, anyone shed some light on the above movement for me? Is it related to one of the ETA movements Mucho thanks................. Completely different companies and little to no interchangeability. Pete, can you please tell me a little about it. I have not been lazy, my google search's turned up stuff like this:- www.perrinwatchparts.com/prod_name/isa_8172_220.aspx Way to high-brow for me I'm afraid. All I need to know really is:- Any good & maybe a "It's not a bad movement because.........................." bottom line, would you buy a watch with this movement if it was a good price & you like the styling etc? Thanks mate, always helping, I appreciate it thunbsup.gif Normally when I google a subject & put in front of it "Idiots guide to "Whatever" I can find what I want. In this case not

In this case not ISA initially made mostly bottom end quartz modules; read no jewels and cost $1.00 to replace. From what I've read; around 2006; they reorganized; stopped mass producing cheap quartz modules and began making higher end chrono and multi function modules. The few reviews I've seen all suggest these newer modules with chronograph complications are pretty good. So; if it's a modern movement; you should be good to go.

The ISA movement in question is a decent movement. Date @ 4 , day @ 6, 30 min chrono @ 10 , 3 jewels. I'm not a big fan of ISA per say , but as far as this one goes its not bad. Wholesale price on a replacement is about $35-$40.
What watch did you get Jason?

Looks good. Post pics when it arrives. Will do Chris, funny I quite glad someone else has scuffed it up & sort of "pre-Wabi'ed" it. That way I wont have to worry about it on the boat. I never had a 45mm watch before, will it make me a "Real Man?!?"

No, I think what makes you a "real man" has to do with how much whiskey you can drink or how many guys you can beat up before you get taken down by the cops. Something like that. Now if you wear that watch while doing these things then that'll make you a "real man". thunbsup.gif
