It is a LE build that was commissioned by some folks on WUS. Should be here within the month. Pretty nice looking watch for $35 delivered and it has the rock solid Citizen 0200 calibre movement that HMT has been building under license for decades.

Ooo, quite like that. For a non diver it has quite an appeal. Pete, funny enough I have a HMT "Para" my daughter got in when she was in India. It's an accurate watch for sure. Didn't know there was any link to Citizen though, thanks.

35 Bucks ? jawdrop.gif That's only about 20 Guineas ! Cheaper than a Wjean waffle. That's a bargain for what it is, I quite like it. thunbsup.gif

That's a bargain for what it is, I quite like it. thunbsup.gif Just did some snooping around ePlay and find many new HMTs with warranty in the $35 to $45 range; all with free shipping. They all employ Indian made Citizen manual and automatic movements based on the 0200 and 6000 series movements from the mid 60s. The movements are all produced under license in Indian factories. From my own personal experience; it looks like the Indian versions are as well made and finished as the original Citizen ones chinathumbsup.gif If you like the various styles; these watches are now possibly a better alternative to vintage Chinese watches as Chinese sellers have now forced the prices way above these levels.

My daughter brought this for me when she went to India, Bless her Not sure if the sellers story that it was an Ex Indian Army watch is true. But its a nice litele (33mm or so) watch. Keeps pretty good time to truth be told. I like it mainly coz my lass brought it for me out of her own money. Now I know its maybe got a Citizen Clone movement (its a cal mechanical movement) in it I'm chuffed. Going to wear it tomorrow chinathumbsup.gif

Yes Pete, as you probably already know, I bought one and am awaiting delivery soon I hope. I think that it is a very nice looking watch and I don't have an Indian watch in the stable.

Yep I paid the $35 (x2), one is for me and the other for my neighbours son, who has started collecting watches! He's 13 and has 20 watch's, he has paid no more than $5 for each of them from junk sales and markets, they are a few dress Seiko's, one Longines (quartz), two digital Casio's and the rest are unknown brands (quartz). This will be his first new mechanical watch thunbsup.gif

What was that watch that was posted on TOF that used a Citizen auto movement and had a classic pilot style dial and PVD case for US$240?
I can't find the link anymore.
