Looks like you nailed it Louis Just add an ETA 2452 auto movement, top it off with a dial and hands and you're good to go.

Looks like you nailed it Louis Just add an ETA 2452 auto movement, top it off with a dial and hands and you're good to go. Aloha Sir, Thanks Pete I thought it was the one but had to make sure to it. Well Pete this is the problem If I could find one more good suitable movement to use it would be nice. But I think for now I could improvise with another one , what you say about that ? But it does no have a case back on it...... , but all is not defeated for it. Would this movement be found in another type ...... Alsta watch that might be on the Bay Sir.....? I will have to look for parts slowly then get it assembled for it to work. Could use some advice to the ....ETA 2452 movement Pete are they hard to find ....? Also I will have to really find things that are good very slowly. I also want to change ... The Crystal on it, its terribly scratched so I have to find information this this watch also. Pete how hard would it be to find another same type movement for this one..... ? Also this is not going to be that easy I think to find extra parts to see what can be used. This was the posting I did about ..... " What I might be getting soon ". Any help and advice about this watch is very much appreciated too. Aloha Louis

Hi Louis. ETA 2452 movements are very easy to find on eBay - either lose or in a watch. You could also use another movement from the same family. Check out Ranfitt to see the other movements in the family which generally differ on whether they have date and how that mechanism works.

Louis, There are several drop in substitutes from the ETA lineup. Start with these... www.ranfft.de/cgi-bin/bidfun-db.cgi?11&ranfft&&2uswk&ETA_2452A quick search on eBay also shows a good supply of watches with these movements. Prices vary from pocket change to 'in your dreams' amounts. Check the various watch findings houses for a suitable crystal. The crystal maker Sternkruse most likely has the proper size and dimensioned crystal. As a temporary fix, try some different Seiko and Citizen case backs. Chances are you will find on that works perfectly.

Will also start looking for some movements too. If you guys browse along and find a close movement let me know please. Louis

An A.S auto is also another decent option. It seems most of the watches I find from this era have either one or the other.
