Actually, bugger. I think they are terrific watches for the money.

Used to be in the Core collection. Looks like it is gone now. Search for SKX173 goes to a blank page. Maybe the SKX is actually, really, finally retired?

Finally! Wonder what's next. Can't be the srp so maybe a quality slim case replacement is on the way.

I know Jon. But I remain hopeful that isn't the case.

Does that mean they will be sold at a discount to clear inventory I wonder? I've a 009 and was looking to get a srp777 but if a 007 got cheap enough....

Lol...I have heard this exact same thing at least once a year, every year, for the last decade. I will believe it when I see it.

How long has it been around I thought most Seiko's were a 10 year life cycle? So it begs the question does every real Seiko collection need to have one?

The logical thing for Seiko to do is update the movement with a 4r36 like the turtle reissues, they will probably fritz about with the dial and ruin it too with a Prospex "X" and other stuff It would be a sad day for Seiko if the SKX was totally discontinued, it is their most authentic watch regardless of price.

I'd agree with the sentiment about it being a sad day pollythecat but please could you clarify what you mean when you say it's their most authentic watch?

Does a comprehensive list of all SKX models exist?

Most direct lineage through all the 150m/200m working man's mechanical divers?

The SKX was first introduced in 1996 or 1997 depending on market. That makes the line 20 years old and it has gone through three calibers; 7s26A/B/C!
