According to Wiktionary (see definition 4 under "adjective"), en.wiktionary.org/wiki/vintage a vintage watch is one produced between 1870 and 1980. Seems like a lot of watches offered for sale as "vintage" don't meet that production timeline.

IWC classify any watches made before 1985.. So in the same ball park..
