Today (19th) marks the start of the comp. (prequel) Challenge: Wear a non modded Seiko you doubt others have or will be unlikely to wear. (Non original band is fine) If you have a unique Seiko as displayed in today’s WRUW thread- you will get an extra point at the end of comp. (Just be sure to put in your post that your WRUW wearing shot is “for the bonus point” If you spot anyone’s “bonus point” Seiko from today’s WRUW thread, you can steal their point by posting it at any time during the photo challenge that starts on the 20th. it does not have to form part of a challenge and can be posted in any WRUW thread as “for the steal” quote the username of the person who is loosing the point.

And remember to post it (or any entry) on the day in your timezone.
I have 50 minutes to go until it is officially the 19th.
I will see if I can stay up that late :imok:

Not sure how much I’ll be able to participate in this year’s contest due to work commitments, but I’ll certainly go for a bonus point to start off. I haven’t seen another one of these on here, so I’m pretty confident... But, hey, if you’ve got one then feel free to bring it out into the open, show it off, and grab yourself a bonus point! SEIKO Presage SSA084.

Are we supposed to be posting in this thread or the normal WRUW thread stating it's a Unique Watch Day entry? (or both?)

I’ve changed the thread name to WRUW 19/7/18 but didn’t realize someone had started another WRUW thread. Sorry for confusion. Probably easier to pop it in this thread.

Pepsi Sumo today. This strap was bought for another watch and I really didn’t care for it, and so it’s been sat in a drawer for a couple of years. Then last night I tried it on this Sumo and bingo, looks great! I’m afraid I don’t have any unique Seikos.

I still think the Sumo is rather unique and high on my radar to have one day.

Ok, 4110 9007. (Edit: just to be clear, this is my unique Seiko for the bonus point competition).

Please be sure to be clear if you want your watch to be included in the bonus point/point steal challenge. Just stick the words bonus point in your post if you don’t want to write a story.

First day on the wrist for this 6217-7000 it arrived a week or so ago looking like this but I could see the potential in the listing picture and its turned out beautifully.

*************** FOR THE BONUS POINT (I’m gonna need it!) ************** Rather than take a slam dunk on a few of my unusual or Limited Edition Seikos, I'll leave open a small crack in the doorway. I've not seen any other of these another member post a 7016-7000. This reference seems to have only been produced in 1977 and apparenty (oddly) sold only as JDM and in South America. 12 hour chronograph with flyback reset - quite advanced technology. Built off the 700X platform by adding layers it is rather tall - 13.5 mm tall by 39 mm diameter. So here is my Gold Dial 7016-7000 where the dial has gone tropical. So vintage pleasing to my eye. I'll concede a steal to any gold or tropical (whether it was the silver or gold that went tropical). Mounted on an original Z122 bracelet these rarely survive happy to have a perfect example bracelet. This one is from March 1977.
