I was lucky enough to catch up with akable Anthony for lunch today. Only a few hours as I had to pick my boy up from school, I wish it could have been more. He was good enough to bring a few beauties with him, some gorgeous GS and my first look at a springdrive too. And a really interesting Seiko 5 : it’s Quartz! But the absolute highlight was something I doubt I’ll ever get to handle again. Here’s my nervous hands fondling it while I tried not to drool too much. So so beautiful in the flesh that it’s mesmerising, as were a few of his GS. I may just need to sell everything and start again! Lovely few hours with a really nice fella. If you get the chance to catch up with him make sure you do!

Wow Pip that's a tremendous opportunity. Anthony is truly one of the most respected and highly knowledgeable members of our vintage Seiko community, and we all know about his collection.........
Sounds like the only downside was it had to end !

He is that, and you can add to that a decent fella too. Absolute top banana, paid interest to my very humble collection and let me have a good look at some of his, each one of which probably would have bought my entire collection and had change.

That would have been a great catch up, Pip. What is the significance of the pocket watch?

That would have been a great catch up, Pip. What is the significance of the pocket watch? It was indeed Tristan. That’s not a pocket watch, it’s one of the actual movements that Seiko entered into the Swiss chrono accuracy competition back in the day. The balance wheel is gigantic!

Oh Lordy that's an unreal find. Only Anthony could pull out such a treasure.
