Moving on Tuesday next week. Stressed. Wish us luck. For anyone who has sent watches and been patient in what has been a difficult last few months at least with an ill mum and all this crap going on. Thank you. Looking forward to being settled down very soon. But a lot of work to do.

Concentrate on getting settled in your new home and everything else will work itself out

Best of Luck Guy. The physical part of the move is enough, then you add in all the extra stress with mix-ups and not being truly settled in for some time it can be trying. So my best to you. And caring for our elderly parents is yet another whole ball of stress on top. My best to you on that too.
Sure I am eager to see my project on your bench finished up but what counts is that you get through the move in good shape. The watch can wait if it has to.

Good luck, Guy. When I bought the house I was renting 18 years ago I did so with the intention of never having to move house ever again (fingers crossed). Moving sucks.

At the end of the month I will have been in my house for thirty years. There are still a couple of boxes in the garage that haven't been opened since the move

Dig them out @penguinbce. You never know what treasures they might hold.

Good luck Guy. My last house move was almost one end of the country to the other - Central Scotland to Kent - 2 days before Christmas 2002. I vowed never to do it again

Easy does it on the move Guy, Don't injure those digits. Last time we moved ourselves. Next time if there is one, Some one else will move us. All the best to you and yours.

Moving stinks! Good luck on your move and be patient. It will all get sorted at some point. Hope your mother is on the mend.

Keep it up big man! Don’t stop until it’s done and then you’re allowed a reward. (I’m thinking a pint and not an SLA017 by the way)

I feel you, Guy! Don't despair, there's a light at the end of this tunnel (and it's possibly not an oncoming train...)

This is bloody knackering. I hear you Guy. I’d like to say it’ll all be over soon but, truth be told, it never really is. You’ll always find yourself moving stuff around, even if it’s just from one room to the other or up to the loft!

Thanks guys.... Just too much seriously and a lot of bloody arguing....sure we'll get through it... Hers is an idea of what we are faced with. imgur.com/a/MJcRx32Stripping, painting, cleaning...we almost split up about 4 times! Pip, sla017 doesn't interest me a tenth as to how much I could do with a good pint of ale right now! Anyway cheers I'll keep you updated and hopefully will see progress...

Ooh, someone has a wee bit of decorating to do. Get the cheap labour in before Brexit Guy or you’ll have to DIY it mate!

Looks like you bought well Guy, good solid Victorian housing stock by the looks of things. If it’s anything like our place you’ll have plenty to keep you busy! 15 years in and I’ve still got shit loads to do. Downstairs all dry-lined and replastered (got rid of the original horse-hair crumbly stuff), rewired, new kitchen, new bathroom, repro cast iron fireplaces, rads replaced. Had penetrating damp in the upstairs back bedroom (now my watch room...) which took 6 months to dry out. So that had to get taken back to bare brick, damp-proof floor to ceiling membrane, lined, plastered, rewired. All done pretty much DIY. Still two bedrooms to start though...
Good luck mate, I know what you’re going through!
