Met up with one of my brothers today who handed me a little bag of stuff that came from when we cleared out my mums house after she died a couple of years ago. We *think* the one on the left was my dad’s when he was young and that the others were my Nan’s from over the years. A couple of them I could get to tick a bit with some gentle encouragement, including my dad’s one so that will jump the queue for a nice bath and servicing.

Hi. Great stuff to get and keep. Your dads watch is unusual in that the lume is intact and flaking but is probably radioactive so care should be taken. The gold one with the telephone dial was an expensive watch when new. Check the movement as it could have Rolex associations.Cheers Phil

I’ll run dad’s one over a Geiger counter when I get a chance to double check.

Nice stuff pip.
Really like that simple "military" style dial on the Langel. I'm assuming a base metal / brass case that was once plated?

Phil What Phil said ... ditto I have an early 60's Roles that sends the geiger counter on it merry ticking way VERY easily. Also, for radioactive jolly's you should check this out. www.youtube.com/watch?v=xirtUF-iJXA

How very cool. It would be terrific if you get them running again. I love heirlooms. This reminds me to post something similar when we looked after mom' s estate after she passed several years ago. Thanks for that and hope there's an update in the works.
