Just Google "watch Netflix and chill". I must be getting old.... Me, too. If I had heard that, I would have assumed just watching a movie while relaxing. Oh, yeah, nice turtle!

So here we are 12 hours later, in public with a different homage watch.
This is a "Tudor Black Bay" in blue. Not a bad copy. Next to my real red one I must say as a fake it is well executed. This one actually took a trip Down Under to let another member give it some wrist time to see if the Big Block case size was appealing. This is a great purpose for these fakes, gives a low cost test out before taking a big buck dive.
Happy New Year Sushies !!!

Happy New Year folks! Now while I haven't made any resolutions for 2019, I intend on trying to avoid using nicknames for watches and other words like, narrative, meme, bling, chill* or even ethos which to my skeptical mind seem "trendy". That said, there's another word that I've grown a tad weary of so let's just say that I am wearing a watch that is panegyrical to those vintage Certina divers that were popular back in the day. Not sure when I'll go public but I've got a whole year to face the madding crowd! *recently some married friends of mine were dining out with their son & daughter-in-law and at the end of their meal, the waitress asked my friends what their plans were after dinner. My buddy advised that he and his wife were going to go home to "watch Netflix and chill". Apparently the waitress got all embarrassed and said said good for you! My buddy's son couldn't believe his dad would use such an expression. So are you curious? Just Google "watch Netflix and chill". I must be getting old.... Aloha Sir, Hi Russ and I am very much attaching to this one here and will find out where it can be found. Being that I need big wrist watch's I like this one over all and also it is a diver too. Aloha Louis

Aloha Louis Hello there Louis and Happy New Year! I think you and Tim share the same aspirations. Helson was still offering these until recently but when I checked their web-site today, the Turtle was noticeably absent? That said, enjoy the hunt should you feel so inclined!

I've just finished my first service of 2019. happy 2019 I don't recognize the 2019 calibre; is that a boy size movement
That is a great shot of the Diafix clips sitting ready for the freshly cleaned and oiled jewels. This watch will undoubtedly run like it did when fresh from the factory, if not better

This nasty thing must have cost my daughter at least 70,000IDP It has fake everything except the 3 main hands that are driven by a $0.50 Chinese quartz movement. The case, bezel and end clips are all one molded piece of plastic or really thin pot metal
A freshly developed shot of the watch with my local pub in the background across the street. Pretty quiet as far as people moving around...they're probably all hung over because it was really loud in the neighbourhood last night!
Please; no prizes if this is lucky enough to win.

And a useful exercise it was, Jon. It helped me banish the Black Bay from my aspirational wish list for good - and then Tudor came out with the slimmer BB58... So this was your fake the the Patek is the real thing, special NY announcement? Edit: Oh no, I see your extra second hand comment now.

I think a friend of mine bought a $5 PP when we were in Cambodia in 2008. No water resistance at all and it didn't last a week in the super humid environment.

Okay the watch is a real Seiko 7009-821A that I say pays homage to the Rolex 77080. The clincher for me is Seiko over sized the bezel ring a bit and the lugs extend past the end links ever so slightly and the bracelet and endlinks are almost interchangeable between the two, except of course Seiko uses slightly off standard lug dimensions. If I were to own a "modern" Rolex I would lean to this reference...Not in it for the Prize just bragging rights. Happy New Year All!

Thanks, but honestly I didn't realize there was a giveaway going on so I'll abstain. I've got too many watches right now and I'm trying to determine what's going to be sold.
