Wow looking at auctions tonight I ran across a lot that included a Pierce, the movement shot was of the weirdest autowind system I think I have ever seen. It looks like the weight goes back and forth rather than round and round. Think I may bid to have in the collection, just because it seems so unusual... Tell me what you guys think of it. Sorry not sure how to get the giant picture like VTA can produce...

Linear Automatic.. Bounces up and down.. Not sure how efficient it would be.. Pretty cool though.

A bit like the bumper automatics. But linear instead of circular. Not sure how efficient this was, but in "the early days" it was a fresh field for inventions. And i'm sure someone had patented the "right" idea relatively early, so others had to find a way around that patent...

Linear Automatic.. Bounces up and down.. Not sure how efficient it would be.. Pretty cool though. The watch guy in me appreciates that you knew this and shared your knowledge , but the immature kid in me is still giggling at the phrase ..."Bounces up and down...".

Well it is all relative to the angle of the dangle I suppose... I could just as easily Jiggle side to side or wobble to and fro...
