New watch day today. I spotted this watch in a local small watch shop last Friday and immediately liked it. Really liked it. I did some research in the evening and made a decision to go back on Saturday and buy it. Which I almost did. The only problem being that when I went back first thing Saturday morning the watch was no longer in the window, which given that these aren't exactly 2-a-penny worried me. Going in the owner (who I know) immediately apologised and said that shorlty after I'd been in, another person had come in and bought it. Doh!! I asked if he had another, expecting him to say no, never but he actually said he thought he'd be able to get hold of one for Monday. Today. So, today I went back and bought it. So .... what is it? Its the SPB085J1 or by the more memorable but harder to pronounce "Urushi Byakudan-nuri" which looks nice, but not exactly breath taking. Turning to capture the light (and its a very dull, rainy day today) the sub dials light up and the display caseback, with the nice subtle gold crescent I've been fancying a lacquer dial for a while, and nearly convinced myself that I wanted the SARX029. But I'm glad I held off for this one.
