I bought this 7c43 at a very reasonable bin price. It It was described as un touched in draw for years. I got it yesterday. The case back was easy to open with a jaxa tool which sometimes isn’t great. Cleaned up ok. Crown Dial I’m yet to service a 754x let alone a 7c How would you approach this?

Step by step Cam! The 7C43 has a decent tech guide (let me know if you need one emailed to you). Remove and inspect each part and clean it properly. Test the coil and pcb etc with a multimeter which will be detailed in the tech guide I think. Hands can be relumed; bet you’d be thinking about having a go at that anyway. Case can be cleaned up a lot. Go for it mate, it’ll be an adventure!
Alternatively send it to me to play with 🤣

I have all movements parts except for mainplate...this is your big concern. Remove hands wirh baggy to protect the dial but whatever you do don't try and touch or clean the dial as I imagine with that moisture the paint will lift easily.
Next is to loosen the eccentric dial foot screws and make sure the plastic doesn't crack....it might .
If you get the hands off and the dial fee. Inspect calender....again these parts I have in plenty but the first thing you want to check...withouthl rotating the crown at all...is that the intermediate wheel posts are intact as they can snap. Easily...
If the mainplate is simply deposited with rust and acid without corrosion then you should be ok....chances are your centre wheel and pinion will be rusyed together, possibly along with the fourth wheel...the setting lever post is also fragile so checking that small post is important to determine if you will be able to have a functioning setting mechanism...
Fingers crossed...if you need owt just say.

Aloha Sir, Cam I would continue to get it done and make it another ....WINNER. If it was my sample I would give it another chance to be a worthy working time piece. Also great advice given about it so why not give it a go..... 7dfe79adc2f0 . Louis

I'd fix that up :-)
re-lume hands clean dial clean case components new crystal hopefully the movement will clean up (and work!!) and I'd look for a new bezel insert
I think that has every chance of turning out very nicely.
