Wet dream, but that LCD looks like the original one... I guess this is made up from the solar tunas and an original Arnie.

Does the caliber H861 or H681 ( I'm close, I think) that's supposedly in these even exist?

If Seiko really did roll this out, it would be fun to watch all the guys who have always said " I won't buy a watch with the big X on the dial" back off that statement!

I try not to let it bother me, but the X logo really does suck....
and if this is true, im getting one. I have always wanted an Arnie, but avoid vintage - so im excited.

Not on board. Love the original, don't like the X, the pushers, the SOLAR. Not for me.

While I can see how this will be popular, I can't help but compare any shrouded diver to my 7549 7010 and the original Arnie didn't stack up - tiny hands and dial and plastic shroud made it feel lightweight and fragile on my wrist compared to the 7549. Thanks to camrok for sending his down for me to try on a year or so ago. Cam now owns an Arnie and a 7549, which does he prefer now? Yeah, a bit off topic 😃

And prob a bit more than the tuna, but I know what I’d use in the water that’s for sure!! I’m probably the only human in the world that would say that. There is something about the Arnie that really appeals to me. May be the functions on top of the design. I have literally been contemplating this re-issue for years. I am quite happy with the planned reissue cosmetically. For me it comes down to two key things. 1-Does it still use the crown to set the digital display. This was on the 558 but not 601. I like the crown set. 2- backlight needs to be more than 0.1 lumen. I’m more excited about this than any other reissue 3- countdown timer would be nice but not on either of the originals.

I didn’t want an Arnie, didn’t massively appeal to me. Got into tinkering and found a knackered one and over some time managed to fix it up. I’d probably be quite happy to wear it 75% of the time now, I don’t know why but I love the way it sits on my wrist. Conversely, lusted for a Green Alpinist for ages, was really excited to get one. Now I hardly ever wear it.

I confess to being one of the dissenters. I love the look and concept of the Arnie. However, in hand, I found it to be a bit of a disappointment. The shroud, delicate movement (limited features) and the tiny hands just didn't do it for me. I sold this one with a very early AM shroud in black aluminum, that looked and functioned much better than the original as pictured. For my money and of similar vintage, the Chronosport UDT did a better job.

Too bad it ain't blue......
That will be the 2021 Limited Edition, and they will only make 558 of them. Watch nerds will call it the "Mr. Freeze Edition", and tell each other that the nickname is terribly clever. Ever seen Schwarzenegger in 'Batman & Robin'? Don't.
Around 490 of them will be scalped on Ebay before they are even released.

Let's just hope we are not giving the future Seikalpers any ideas here!
