Apparently at BaselBrush World, and I have to say yes please (but would prefer no X) with a 5R65 springdrive movement. We find out officially what’s there tomorrow when it opens I believe.

I wonder how huge it is. If it was actually a normal size (i.e. 42mm or smaller) then it would be awesome! Even anything smaller than a Sumo would be nice.

It is smaller than a Sumo - it's 44.8 mm x 50.9 mm: http://instagram.com/p/Bt3x9lJhORl Whereas the new Sumo, which looks to have the same case as the current one, is 45 mm x 52.6 mm x 13.3 mm - it just has a different bezel insert: http://instagram.com/p/Bt5zyXkBdL-

Nice watch, with undoubtedly a nice price to accompany it.
Can't get the "hang up" with the "X", this is a new series of watch, the "Prospex" identified by the X, I wonder it the same furor accompanied the release of the "Seiko 5" series, with the 5 numeral on the dial?

Yep, it did but for a different reason. Most folks thought the '5' marked the watches as being bottom end, cheap Seikos. Of course there were also folks who didn't like seeing it on the dial as well

Well paint me green and call me a kipper, the solar Arnie was real after all! And there are two versions of it.

I really hope I get a chance to see the 6105 reissue in the flesh and compare it side by side to my 6105-8110. That being said...I think the dial text is a little off putting as it was with the SLA017. Not the 200m itself, just something about the font that leaves me feeling blah. Also wish the dial markers didn't make me think of many repro and homage dials that don't feel right (e.g. : Timfactors' Smiths branded PRS-68). I'm not complaining, I'm glad Seiko put this out, even at the unobtainable price point. If it were a sub $1K 6R based watch I would be more upset because then it would be more in the realm of consideration for purchase.
Although I will say that their choice of painting the stoplight sweep instead of luming it is a shame. Much as it was on SBDX012. Looks cheesy in streetwalker red. Baby aspirin orange lume is the way to go.
The Arnie is intriguing. The pushers are at once a bit cartoonish but also very toolish, much like some G-Shocks. I will (hopefully) get to see one in real life and then really know if I need to have it. If they did one in Orange I would probably already be onboard.

The images at Plus9Time make a compelling case for the new Arnie.

That looks so much better than the original. So Seiko is getting some things right

That looks so much better than the original. So Seiko is getting some things right If they release one in Orange my goose is cooked. Wait a year or two. That will be an LE, limited to 558 pieces worldwide, and costing twice what a black one costs. Seiko might even give you gold hands and a gold display. Guess you can start saving now!

I can't say that I am a fan of pushers that are essentially clones of the crown, but I will say that I always found the pusher size to be a bit of a handicap on the original models.
They were pretty small and fiddly on the H558...
I am sure I will buy one unless they are 56mm x 65mm or something ridiculous. The dimensions of the original H558 were pretty much perfect. Can't believe we are seeing a new H-series movement like this in 2019! Long-time Seiko collectors have wished for years that Seiko would embrace their heritage and the continued appeal of some of their old designs. Boy, are they ever!

They're 47.8 mm in diameter, so a bit bigger than the original Arnie at ~ 45 mm. Availability September, Australian price: AU$799. Thanks! I missed that. Looks like they will be about the same size as the SBBN 300m 'Tuna' models, which are pretty much my upper limit in terms of size.

Call me a heretic but I have never liked that bezel. Although it is less objectionable on a SKX011J than on a SKX171 or its 7002 forebears.
