You may have already been following the concept of this challenge, if not-
This is a challenge to measure the accuracy of your various quartz watches. They may be cheap expensive old or new, but they are the unsung heroes not the vhp, precisionists or HAQ’s. These are those watches you pick up and wear, now it’s time to see how they perform against the HAQ standards.
In order to be in the comp, you need to:
Post: a picture of the watch you will be entering for the month in tomorrows (April 7th WRUW thread) The watch will need to have a picture of an internet time server in the background.
You can use any time servers that display the time and date on the page and they sync to an atomic time server. Some may argue accuracy based on network speed but it should be within a second.
Within my pic you will see the sync info as well. This can be on computer or device.
Examples of time servers include time.is or clock.zone
The watch: Must be quartz and not Marketed as advertised high accuracy quartz or high frequency or any of the other preci vhp haq propriety jargon, No watches that sync or have satellite time setting.
*Feel free to use this challenge as an excuse to measure your fancy watches and others you think may be really great or poor time keepers- please be clear to identify the ONE watch you will be entering as a competitor against other members.
The setting: the watch can be time synced only once on the 7th of April pre photo. From there it must be left to run.
The Wear: The entry watch must be worn at least once a week for the challenge/competition. That means 5 times including April 7 & May 7.
To prove this please post a pic of your watch and the current date in the WRUW thread for that day and a note to suggest this is your quartz challenge watch.
The Winner: Will be awarded a prize, I am yet to determine. I have a fairly generous suggestion, however I would be happy if anyone would like to contribute a few $ to make this one a bit easier to donate. Please PM me if you want to contribute.
The winner will be announced a day or few after the 7th May.
Honesty. In order for this challenge to work, it is important we do not cheat as it is an experiment to see how well our watches do.
