About four months after the start of this competition, I'm still running at +6.8 seconds per month. Very stable given the first month was rounded to 7s. That's great. I'm sure trimming and perhaps a service will get it super accurate.

I could trim it, but it's a press on case back and I don't want to be continually opening it in case it damages the nylon gasket. +7 will do. 👍

Might invest in a quartz timer but my mechanicals are keeping me busy enough. Just out of interest, what battery are you using? I think I need to do a voltage mod on some older ones.

It's supposed to take an SR1120W/391 battery. I'm pretty sure that's what I put in it.

Update! I haven't worn this for a while, and I have not changed the time since the commencement of the challenge. This is not running a solar re-chargeable battery - just a standard silver oxide - and it was serviced and adjusted early in the year. It has gained a single second since the start of the measurement period.

That's fantastic rossr. Ancient technology giving modern watches a run for their money.

That’s awesome rossr I have one of those I want to get going but it’s missing a battery holding clamp and screws. I would like to see if I get similar results.

I’ve been a bit slow in updating my watches for daylight saving. I’ve had a few battery dies and resynced a few so these are the quartz from last daylight saving shift The results over 6 months. Top 3. 1- t touch pocket watch 4 seconds slow. 2- 7a38 6 seconds slow. 2- Original Arnie. 7 seconds slow I have just started adjusting the trim on a few of the poor performers.

This 8600 is running just under 4 seconds fast over the measurement period.

I'm running 5 seconds fast on this one since commencement of the trial on 8th of April, 234 days ago. It has gained a little since last measurement in mid-September. This is a 0.021 second per day rate, or a 7.8 second per year rate.

Update on the winning watch. Have not touched the time/day/date since competition started. As a reminder. Guy serviced this. So if you want your watch to run in tiptop shape, you know who to contact.

8 months in, my Omega quartz has gained 68 seconds or 8.5 seconds per month. That's pretty consistent with the 7 seconds indicated by the month of the original challenge. Hopefully I remember to check back in at the beginning of April for an annual reading.

The latest in the performance of my Crystron Solar Cell watch. I have not changed the battery, nor adjusted the time since April 8th 2019 - 484 days ago. Over this period, the watch has gained 22 seconds - a rate of 0.045 seconds/day, or 16.6 seconds/year. I haven't been wearing it regularly unfortunately.

That’s awesome. Unfortunately most of my more accurate watches have required a battery change.

I'm still in this! The Citizen Solar Cell (though it has a regular battery on board) is still going strong. Since April 8th 2019, 708 days have passed. The watch is coming in at 41 seconds fast over this period, which is 0.058 seconds per day. Has anyone else still got the original battery in from the start of the challenge?

That's outstanding, rossr. Unfortunately I've had to do some work on one watch and have surely messed with the time on the other over that period. I bet camrok still has something going though.

Unfortunately I don’t have either original batteries or anything skewed by daylight savings.... that’s awesome. My original Arnie is still my best time keeper and my Tissot t touch range is still the best of my non Japanese. With the turn of time coming it’s a nice reminder to start the challenge again.
