This is my entry in the Quarts Accuracy Competition. An old Orient Quartz Diver, original movement was not repairable so I fitted a Hattori VX43M movement. I thought it would be interesting to see how a modern cheap quartz movement would hold up against some of the older high quality quartz, I wear this watch as a daily beater as is evident from the crystal, I wear it all the time since I modded it, I sometimes even remember to take it off and wear a nice watch when I go out, so the demands of wearing for the competition should not be a problem.

This old Omega isn't highly accurate, but we'll see how it goes. Starting at +9.1s.

My entry is the Arnie but I’m interested in how these others go also. I will start a database tomorrow and list everyone who is entering. This will be fun... but not something I can see sharing in any other social setting.

Will be joining with this GuyJ powered 7C43 I’m very interested to see how this one travels. I am considering sending my messy example to Guy also.

Wellll it's not advertised as a high accuracy quartz watch, so will I be allowed to enter . Just to keep things interesting, as I know it's gained 5 seconds over the last 5 months.

I’m up for the quartz challenge, gives me a reason to set them all the BST if nothing else 😀 Given they’re almost universally considered as one of the crappiest Seiko quartz movements I’ll be submitting the 7123 on the right of the photo, as well as testing the dinky little 8C23. I’ve set my Bulova Precisionist collection as well and it’ll be good to see how they stack up against a regular quartz.

My entry for the Quartz Accuracy Competition - Citizen 8600A from June 1974, sometimes known as the 'blinker' since the LED at the 12 0'clock position flashes every minute . Factory spec for these was +/- 10 seconds per month: Stephen

I’m in the office and it may be a late one, but remembered to grab Arnie this morning as my entry to “Camrok’s Quartz Quality Quantification TM” I’m +1s as a starting point and this is fiddly enough to set both elements that I’ll leave it there. If I get home in time I’ll get a few more quartz pieces on the roster too so we can improve the dataset.

I decided to go with my newest and cheapest watch. Less than $20.00 all in at Amazon. Not going to bother tracking anything else.

This contest is starting to look like an "Arnie" face off.
