I have no idea what I’ve got here. It looks good and I have no idea why anyone would fake these but... there is no markings in the dial and no serial number on the case back. Any initial thoughts would be awesome.

Looks good to me, many or really most Vostok watches don't have serial numbers or dial codes or anything like that. If you're trying to date the watch, you'd need to look at the stamps on the movement or materials used in it, sometimes the different subtexts on the dial can give an indicator of the era too.

I've read that the unmarked ones are from the 'transitional' period from after the USSR disbanded so your example might be from the early 90s.

Someone else who is not a watch enthusiast but well travelled and familiar with other ussr based items said the same thing.

Nice pick up. There is a group of people who're as passionate about these as we are about Seiko. Hand winder?

That is a nice looking watch. I love old divers. They seem to have more interesting designs to them.

No idea if it's real or not, but it certainly appears to be...I sure do like those divers.

I still haven’t got my head around the crown. They are odd. From all the comments it looks like it’s legit from the 90’s when USSR was under political change. Prior to this the watches appeared to have markings similar to Japanese and Swiss at 6 o’clock Following this the dials appeared to have more dial markings below the center of the dial.

It looks OK, but I assume the wobbly crown has you puzzled? It has been gone for a while, but the one I had was like that. That wobbly crown is intentional, or so I'm told. I needed to keep a little outward pressure on the crown when I wound it, or the darn thing would screw back in. Any farther out, and I'd be setting the date. I wound up (pun not intended) giving it away.

One of the great things about Vostok watches is that the designs didn't change much and they all look vintage. That though is also the reason why telling the age of one is a bugger - damned things all look like they were made in the 1960s. Do like them a lot and have a few myself. Not the best time keepers in the world, but you can tell these are made to be simple and rugged .. like a Russian tractor. The wobbly crown is very off putting for some people, I don't mind it - and don't screw the crown in too tight, it can stop the movement.
