As we've seen (and discussed) Seiko has been raiding the classic watch models for inspiration and profit the last couple years. Some of the foundational watches of WIS's have been redone with the 6217 (SLA017), 6159 (SLA025) and now the 6105 (SLA033). (I'm leaving the new 6309 clones out of it because they didn't go high on price on those) To me that seems to leave only the 6139 as a logical 'winner' in going with an upscale remake of a loved classic.
Am I missing something, is there another biggie on the horizon for Seiko to continue with this string?

1969 (Christmas day) saw also the release of the Quartz Astron... I would guess we'll see another very limited, very expensive Quartz Astron later in the year.

What about a proper 62 series style World Timer? Although they do some beautiful GS ones already.

Whatever they decide to do, it’ll be well outside my (admittedly meagre) budget

Seiko barely acknowledged the 6139's existence until a few years ago. Adequately reproducing a 50-year-old single-register, day/date, automatic chronograph will require a lot of expensive engineering. Not like a diver where you can just throw an existing movement into a retro case.
I'd love to see a 6139 re-pop, but I have my doubts.

I agree. Moreover imo their decision to go with these divers reissues might also have been influenced by how well the ongoing relatively modern divers were selling (skx monster shogun samurai etc) indicating our obvious appetite for divers
