Interestingly, this dial has the exact same sunburst blue color as the Samurai Blue Lagoon, which came decades later.

While this 6619-8280 “Jungle Seiko” was not officially issued by CISO (Counter Insurgency Support Office) to personnel, it is a confirmed MacV SOG (Military Assistance Command - Vietnam, Studies and Observation Group) variant, and was made available to individual personnel at a BX/PX during the Vietnam War Conflict. This example is from February of 1967 and an honor to own.

While at my watchmakers he says I have something for you. He likes to pick up interesting Seiko's for me. He hands me a 7n36, and says just take it. You don't want anything for it? You'll see why, he replied. When I got around to it, bad water damage. This series never intrested me till in the hand, and I really like it. Now a cheap parts watch later, and she's on the wrist today.
