Will be 10000 yen plus shipping according to the author. I imagine $100 USD shipped is fair for a true work of art kind of book. Not for everyone's budget but that's what a high-end well produced book goes for these days I guess.

Shipping is extra. In Oz we use $100 including shipping or $100 plus shipping.

Just a heads up that this book will be released on December 10th and that there only a few copies still available from the initial print run. If you are interested you can still mail the author at the address provided in the first post. The main focus of the book is a number of interviews (provided in Japanese and English) between the author and the different Seiko employees that were responsible for the design and development of the first Seiko designed chronograph and the progression to the first automatic chronograph. In addition to the historical watches and movements there is also a discussion comparing the historical calibers design to the modern chronograph calibers produced by Seiko. There are numerous new details revealed in the research that has never been publicly available before. Whatever that's a lot of money for a book when the internet has all the images for free. There is also a section of the book that includes images from the JDM and international Seiko catalogs, but stating that "the internet has all the images for free" is not really accurate. Disclaimer: I provided some images for this book and assisted with the English translations of the interviews, I do not have any financial connection to the book and do not receive any revenue from its sales.

Anthony I just meant that for a lot of people their interest level stops at what is available online. Certaimly not for the appetite of a true collector.
I hope to snag a copy. And if history repeats these sort of books can prove a good investment at resale time in a few years.
Thank you again for alerting us to it

Thanks for the information on the book Anthony! It's going to be a Great Historical Collections of Facts!
I've got one on order.
Heck, I've spent more on one watch part then the cost of the book!

Thats great that you could provide input for this book Anthony. I hope at least the author will sign your copy. I am quite looking forward to this book even though i don't own any early Seiko chronos. The stories will be most interesting i think.

And if history repeats these sort of books can prove a good investment at resale time in a few years. This is certainly true. I love my copy of "The Seiko Book," but I was astonished at the prices these are going for now when I recently looked on Ebay and Yahoo JP. Pretty crazy that a book which originally sold for 2200 JPY is now going for around $150.
