This Roamer Searock 521 handwinder is just back from Nick down in Christchurch.. A dear friend had given it to me before he passed away recently.. The stem had broken off and the crown was lost as a result.. Inside there were teeth broken on the 'castle pinion/gear'.. I asked Nick if he could get some parts for me and then had him fit them and give the watch a service.. My friend had bought this watch when he was living and working in the Haag back in the 70s.. Knowing what it means to me to have my father's watch, I now need to check with his sons if they would like to have the watch.. In the meantime, I will wear this watch at times in memory of a dear friend and mentor.. Cheers

Hi Tony. Sorry to hear of your loss. Condolences.
I thinks it's a great thing you're doing in trying to get the watch in the hands of one of his sons. Awesome work! I really hope they appreciate the watch and cherish it for what it is . . . a piece of family history.
