Does anyone have any info on the Lord Matic deluxe 5626 8140? I just got one and there are hardly any write ups on it. Pretty cool hows it's got the ks movement. I take it, not many were made.

Me likey. Right up my dress watch alley. Nicely shaped "Grammar of Design" by Tanaka case shape. Classic, iconic Seiko.

They only appear in the 1976 JDM catalogue, so they were probably only made in 1976. There were 6 different models. It's speculated that they were made to use up the last of the calibre 5626 King Seiko movements after the King Seikos were discontinued in 1975. As Lord Matics, they were a bit cheaper than the King Seikos, but had dials unlike those found in King Seikos. They have a similar case to the 5606-7190 Lord Matic.

Really like the applied arabic hour markers. Didn't know they made one in the 5626 line

Here is the catalogue image of all 6 models, from Page 36 of Volume 1 from the first half of the year: imgur.com/a/va8fIWbI should have been clearer - there are 3 of them which share the same case design, the -8140 case, but have different dial designs, two in stainless steel, the LAK020, which is the one you have, and the LAK010, which has an off-white, slightly beige colour rice-paper-textured dial, and the Seiko Gold Plate LAK804, which has a vertically-striped dial. You have already seen the Snowflake 8200 dial in the -8150 or -8160 case shape that you didn't like. There is also a blue sun-burst -8180 dial in the -8150 case shape with hooded lugs. Really like the applied arabic hour markers. Didn't know they made one in the 5626 line I don't think they're applied, like on the 5740C Lord Marvel. I think they're stamped through from the back of the dial, and then painted black on top, like with Zeke's 7009. You can see some areas around the black painting which look white on the surface of the numerals. It can be difficult to tell stamped markers apart from applied markers if they're done well - like with the NOMOS Orion, where only the models with the date have applied markers, and all other models without the date have stamped markers, with the markers plated with gold in both cases, whether stamped or applied.

Your right, the numbers seem to be stamped, all the rest applied. Also the word deluxe is raised
