Pretty epic fires in my area. 72 active fires in our state of NSW and a rough count of 1 million hectares burnt over the weekend. This one 7km from my place. One if the smallest ones. We are bracing ourselves for a state wide state of emergency with temps and winds expected to make things much worse. There is an apocalyptic vibe walking out if the hospital today. Stay safe any fellow New South Wales members.

Weโve got the opposite problem here in the UK - rain of almost biblical proportions ๐ฆ New arrival for today - Orient Mako XL. I decided my collection needed a bit of colour, and this was just too good to pass up. For the cost, these are just fantastic value for money.

Got a Leroy Jethro Gibbs vibe going on there  As for biblical ...... The area covered maybe but from the majority of news feeds, little more than calf deep. In fact my brother and I had to comment on one yesterday. While the journalist was reporting on it, a fireman passed by pulling a rubber dinghy with three young people. The water didn't even cover his toecaps  Then there's the obligatory sensationalist titles... Example "Submerged" - completely covered or obscured. youtu.be/E3Ga_isSa-U

Following Pipโs lead, a little Swiss as well. Stay safe to those affected by weather conditions and happy veteranโs day to those in the States.

Happy Kanji Monday gents and a big Thank You to all who served as we observe Veterans Day today. Green dial 6139-8050. October 1974. I've had more than a few of these, including the blue and green, but the dial imperfections always made me move them on. This one is just flat-out pristine.

Will be heading down to the cenotaph shortly to observe Remembrance Day, thinking and thanking all who served. In particular I am remembering Uncle Larry who perished on July 23, 1944 while on a training mission off the English Coast. Larry (in the middle) with some of his crew; With his father, a veterean of WW!; And of course Dad, pictured in the middle who we lost 20 years ago yesterday. Being an airforce brat, thought I'd wear something blue...
