For one reason or another this has taken about two years to get back from my local watchmaker - including sourcing not one, but two chrono second hands! I'd almost forgotten how great it looks in person. Envious of this one Tristan. Incredible watch !

6105-8009 ca. 1969 A 69 with Resist on the dial? I thought it was Proof and changed in the latter half of 1970. Beautiful condition.

This March 1969 6139-6000 SpeedTimer was rebuilt and relumed by our very own Adrian at Vintage Time Australia. I sold off its brother from Feb. 1969 as it just couldn't compare which is really saying something. This one features its original, super rare early chrome rimmed domed crystal. Adrian had his crystal restorer guy polish it like new. It is my favorite feature of this early example. See first close-up the chrome rim is easily observed. The hands are all original. The matte style hour and minute are well known to be the early version, as is the 2-piece seconds hand. What amazes me is that both the red sweeper and sub dial minutes counter hand have a wonderful iridescent quality when viewed from certain angles. It is simply an aged patina thing, and absolutely amazing to look at in the metal. I try to capture this in the second close-up, kind of hard to photograph. Tomorrow for International Pogue Day I will finish strong. View AttachmentView AttachmentThat really is a beauty, Jon. I seem to remember reading or watching a video recently that said that the early chrono hands were finished in a translucent lacquer - beautiful but fragile. I guess that's what gives them the iridescent effect.

I guess that's what gives them the iridescent effect. Glad to learn that, thank you. You never stop learning or picking up nice little nuggets of information in this great hobby. Thanks Tristan ! I have seen a few hands on non-Pogues that have that great effect - looking at them under a blacklight is a trick that Adrian taught me right here on WristSushi - but I did not know why until now. I can say that along with the original chrome rimmed crystal these red hands with that extra vibe make it a certain kind of 'most original' that I really like about this one.

Is this your watch, Jon? Adrian's comments about the hands are at about 21:45. youtu.be/X17sqFmaTf4

No but there is a very good chance it is @bbilford's watch. Adrian just finished up his Feb '69 just about when the video was shot, maybe not I am not sure but it's very likely.
Yes as he discussed the metallic sheen as he calls it when reviewing the 2-pc hand it was awesome. Thanks again.
