Hi - is a "signature confirmation" something we should always require?

I guess it would depend on value. I've sold some more expensive things where I have required proof of delivery or signature required. Most items I sell I don't bother with. Imagine if you feel the deal might be sketchy you might want it for that added protection. That said I have never been successful getting PayPal to help me as a buyer when things went sideways.

It isn't considered in a case as a signature can be done by anyone and can be denied when put on one of those machines as not resembling the actual person's signature.
All that matters is tracking to show attempted or actual delivery (until tracking shows a return to sender) and a proof of postage that clearly shows the addess and post/zip code matches what was on the PayPal/Ebay transaction (not via any private message, although it can be used as evidence to prove an item was sent to where the buyer requested). That said I would only ever ship to the actual address supplied on the paypal or ebay order details...and send tracked and keep pop.

I usually send signature on delivery unless it's a low value item or someone I know and trust. Signature usually costs an extra $5, but is certainly worth it for peace of mind and may help you out if there's a PayPal claim made.

I believe once it is insured for a certain amount, a signature is required.
