I have been tempted to give them a go. I have bought the bergeon ones I needed but it turns out I need few more sizes.
Probably get some in the new year.

Never bought any of those, but I've bought a few caseback openers, movement holders, and a $10 seagull movement to tinker with from AliExpress. Always received the items as described and I've been happy with the experience. I buy a lot of things from AliExpress now. Heck, most of the sellers on Amazon are drop-shipping products from AliExpress/Alibaba for 2X the cost, so I'd rather buy it directly from AliExpress.

I'm pretty impressed by the latest crop of asian tools. They have upped their game big time. I bought one of the dial foot repair tools and was blown away by the build quality. Easily comparable or better than Bergeon. I tried one of the machines with the modified car ignition coil that does arc welding but wasn't happy with the result as too much heat got into the dial, certainly more I was comfortable with. This machine cuts a perfect circle in the dial and you glue the feet in. I also got some plastic movement holders. I don't really use these a lot but they are handy for working on dials and oddball shaped parts. The quality is great. Finish slightly worse then Bergeon but they work well. Yep, I've been impressed by the quality of receent Asian parts as well. The only thing I bought from AliExpress that seemed shoddy was a set of micro screwdrivers. The tips were terrible. Oh well, it was a $3 loss. Guess I'll need to stick with the Swiss drivers.

That dial foot tool looks like a great tool to have. Do you have a link to it's listing?
Thanks

Shocking good quality handle body, not sure about the tip yet. Look at the various pictures for brand name. I want a set of regular drivers from this outfit. Not sure about the stepped shafts on the screwdrivers for sharpening and tuning. Also got a knock off 1A oiler. Haven't tried it yet but first impression is, it's a knockoff for sure.
Had no idea how the dial foot thing worked based on their description. Makes sense now.
Anyone test out the Bergeon like mainspring winders? $100 or so for 8 sizes of winders. Edit: Last sentence was after a long day and maybe an adult beverage. Forgive my lack lack of paying attention.

We should really start a "Share you Cheap, Good Quality Watch Tool Finds" thread, where everyone can share a link to the exact item they purchased and state "I can vouch for this. It's decent quality."
Most of the time, if you start a "What model of <insert watch tool> should I buy?" thread, you get the same replies of "Buy the Bergeon." Which is of course always safe advice and probably the best choice for an actual professional, as they make fantastic products. But sometimes a hobbyist doesn't want to spend $200 on a set of screwdrivers when there might be something out there that's 90% as good for $20.

Louis The payment system on AliExpress is pretty similar to Ebay. You create an account, put items in your cart, and then pay with credit card in the checkout. Some vendors accept paypal, but for those that don't, you need to use the AliExpress payment system. It's secure just like Ebay. Just sign up on aliexpress.com

The struggling Watch Persons poor persons dream when it comes to buying things and still save money while doing that. Many places have .....Supplies and Tools for sale but many just can't afford it yet. Major brand names are some times costly to get but with this the work can get done with some savings while getting to do what is needed. This might be a .... Profitable Source to know about and very Helpful if it is a way of getting what many are looking for. It might be a major source to get a lot of what many want to get accomplished in their work. Forum Members , Thank you for letting many know about this Source and what it has available for many ...... . Aloha Louis

I first saw the mainspring winder sets during the 11/11 sale. They were $130 then. Now they are showing up for under $100. How low will they go?

Forum Members , Thank you for letting many know about this Source and what it has available for many ...... . Aloha Louis You're exactly right. It's a great source for cheaper tools for those of us that are simply hobbyists and don't need professional level kit. We don't need a screwdriver that can last for 10,000 uses like an actual watch professional does, as we're not going to be using the screwdriver 20 times a day, but rather 20 times a year. Also, the s in the username is actually part of the word. "Nordlys" is the Norwegian word for the northern lights. Literally translated from Norwegian, it is north (nord) light (lys).

Aloha Sir,
So I was right on the Name Meaning when I told my Wife. It sounded like that Country was in the name. My Dad had a Friend on the Big Island that was from Sweden too and they were friends for so long his name was ... Timothy Worsnick and his wife was from Norway and he was a good and talented Craftsman too. So it looks like many are going to finally benefit with this website and it's products. good to finally see some one is finally helping many.
Aloha Louis

The cutting tool finish is superlative. It's ground so fine it has a rainbow finish. Now that's quality. www.aliexpress.com/item/4000134843757.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.27424c4dy7km8TI'm pretty impressed by the latest crop of asian tools. They have upped their game big time. Since I got the Horotec stainless steel set, never looked back. I only have to sharpen about once a year. I gave away 3 other sets that needed sharpening once a month, including a bergeon set. Just register an aliexpress account. You simply pay with credit card. I think you can even use a gmail to log in now. They don't accept paypal, only Chinese paypal (Wepay). Just use the credit card. The Asian tools are not too bad these days. On some of the larger, older things like crystal presses, the old issues still remain with sloppy fit etc. Newer tools they have released should be putting the fear of chapter 11 into Bergeon.
