Aloha , I have had this watch for about ....7 years now and need to get it going some how. I had it in a box with some others and found it so I need to find out just what is this movement and anyone knows about it It seems to have belonged to a ..... Navy Guy before. I got it from My Swap Meet Friend here for free. The Watch Dial is very nice and the watch itself is very small too. I stripped it before and took ..... Many, Many, Many pictures of it as I did it and I got it together again but it too me about 2 - hours to do it and it works ,........ BUT it only works if I hold it ..... >>>> Up Side Down.... now. So I will have to use some Staking Tools I would think on it but to find the correct ... Staff for it yet. It worked for ...2 - Days then stopped..... . I found out that .... The bottom of the Staff ...... on ..... The Hair Spring..... seems to be worn (Wobbly) so I would say that is the problem to it. Can anyone please Identify ........ This Movement if possible. ( I'll take a wild Guess but might need to be corrected ........ " Is it a ..... Venus Movement ..... ?? ". Aloha Louis Dial reads ...Jules Jorgensen ___________________________________________ UpDate : Ok some messaged me with this. As told that I have a ....... Jules Jergensen ....1940's Register 2 Chronograph Stainless Steel.

Aloha Sir, Yes it looks good for a old timer but a bit small but I had a time with many pictures getting it back together. But I like having much patience and it went well. This is how it looks on a Strap I tried it on for those .... 2 days when it was working. I probably would have to get .... The Staff made or some how found if lucky for it. The problem is only the Staff the rest of the watch works great. I thought it was a .... Venus Movement but Googled a lot but can not be found yet. Thanks for the reply back Sir, Louis

Thats a sexy chronograph Louis! Aloha , It is so small on the wrist but I got it cleaned and back together with a little time but Man it sure has parts... . I was ok because I use a Lap Top for taking pictures then I use it for re-assembling step by step. I have always like to mess around with complicated and small things so it was quite easy. Louis

Aloha Sir, Yes I still have it yet but I boxed it for now because I could not locate a parts Movement of good Balance Hair Spring for it. The watch works but up side down because ..The Staff needs to be changed yet but I have had some difficulty finding a ... Good Staff . Many have Staff's but are all worn down. This watch probably has to have .... The Staff Custom Made .... to be working again I would say. The watch just was some thing I got and cleaned up but not a big rush to get done if the part is not yet found so I kept it on side again. I found out the .... Movement could be a .... Venus 175 Movement, but I am not to familiar with these type of Movements yet. Aloha and thanks for the reply Sir, Louis Jules Jergenson ( Said to be probably a ... Venus 175 but not sure ..... ? )

Your movement has a different balance staff jewel system to the Venus 175, I think yours is more likely an early Venus 170.(check the picture on Ranfft) If so, new balance staffs are a ten dollar part and easily available. A parts list for 170 is available online at watchguy.co.uk

Aloha 7s26b, I went through that website and a few more and none of them seem to feature ... This Movement. I will continue looking into it for a while once again. The Venus 175 comes close to it except it does not have that extra gear on ... The upper Left Side.... and some of the Mechanism on The Upper Right Side also. And ...The Thin Clicker Lever on the ... Left Side area. Louis But The Search still goes on and maybe it can be identified later..... . Do you see that little Gear with the ... Bent Holding Arm... 1 Screw to hold it...??

You probably know this as you're normally light years ahead of me, but movement ID's are often stamped on the keyless side of things I believe. And I'm guessing you've already looked under the balance cock for a mark?

Louis, the one you have is a 'column wheel' chrono while the other one is not. Two different types of movement all together.
It bears a close resemblance to an older Valjoux movement.
EDIT:
It looks identical to the Alpina 651 (Landeron 13).

Saw this on Ebay, if you need a new staff. Item #372877154991 Thank you Sir I checked it out Thanks. Now yesterday I was holding the watch upside Down like I dais it works that way. But I noticed the .... Hair Spring still has a very ....Small Kink again in it yet after I straighten it out before. So I would say that ... Hair Spring Kink .... is still effecting the watch so I will have to find ...... " A Replacement After All For It... ". But I am determined to find and get it fixed some how. Eventually it will work again ..... . Thank you all for all the help with this problem and I appreciate it too. Louis
