So this morning I was getting a stepping stool from my wife's walk- in closet. Her jewellery drawer was open and I realised she has quite a collection herself! Clearly Seiko heavy! Anyone else here has to guard their collection from domestic terrorism? Rob

Not at all, but my wife did ask me the other day about getting her a watch. So it may be starting soon!

Aloha , Watch's.... , man since I started collecting she has been doing the same but at my cost. It start with this box then it got to be maybe about .... 40 - Watch's now. So I had my good friend make a nice box for her. She some times give some of those Fashion Watch's to the Girls here. See's them on The Bay and then tells me get that one and fix it for me. But she is quit nice about it too because she pays for the needed parts and new batteries when in need. She likes many .... Diver Models also but no ..... Wind Up's. So it is not that bad, well for now but who knows about later on.... . But Hey .... I get Good Food and Clean Clothes yet so it is still fine with me ......... . Louis Louis

Is that a 6106-5419 TV case like mine I see hiding in there?

My wife has a small collection, all of which I've bought for her trying to get her to appreciate the hobby haha. She has an Orient Star, a light pink Baby-G, and my King Seiko 5245-6000, with it's small and thin 35mm tonneau-shaped case, also spends quite a bit of time on my wife's wrist (it's about the size of a modern ladies watch). Out of the three, she wears the Baby-G 90% of the time. She absolutely loves that thing. I'm just happy that she found a watch she likes. She still doesn't really understand why I spend so much time looking at watches on the internet or opening up casebacks and staring at movements, but now she can at least appreciate watches as utilitarian objects that also look nice. And a few months ago, she said something along the lines of "My G-Shock is so much more practical than an Apple watch. It does everything I need it to do and I never need to plug it in." ...and her husband's heart grew three sizes that day.

It most certainly is, Jon. It was a $25 pickup at the Collingwood flea market.

My other half says she can’t understand my fascination for watches, but has developed an interest in Skagen watches, and will always accept one as a gift (5 at the last count)!

I tried getting her into it with this NOS birth year watch: ...it didn't work. But the son starts asking me whether that guy from Australia has replied regarding the new crystal for his Citizen and whether he can have my blue 7S26 and so on. So there is hope...

Maybe looking at it reminds her how old she is. Women hate that age stuff 😆 Glad to hear to hear your son started to have an interest. I remember poking around my grandfather’s watches and playing with his Rolex that I now have.

I gifted my wife four or five watches over the years and for a while, she wore them, then about 3 years ago she gave up wearing a watch at all, and they just sit lonely in the safe.😪
