Hi guys , looking for anyone out there who might have a good example of a 6023. I need to know if the front slope on the case is ground / brushed or polished? I can’t find a good photo on google.. I am half way through restoring my “junk “ one.. yep Ramon special. Proper gamble as I could only guess at the dial bit for $20 worth a throw of the dice. Turns out it’s a bad one and I’ve searched the world and all my contacts to see if anyone has a dial , preferably yellow but alas no.. So the plan is to do as much as I can in the hope that in years to come I find said dial! I’ve serviced the movement already as I love the 6119 . Actually running nice and sweet at 210 amp so fair play there. I’ve lightly polished hands and will repaint the second hand, lume it and have a go at luming the indices too if I can. New glass from Stefan (thanks mate) So now I’m in the middle of finishing the case. Here are some before shots So as you can see it’s a mess but I am pretty confident this will look okay by the end. I’ve pre-polished the sides already so they are looking good and then hand replicated the turned front features . That’s been challenging as I’ve had to remove the scratches first and then hand finish to replicate which is not an easy task. So I’ve been grinding the slope as it’s pitted everywhere and out of shape. Some Seikos have thes ground so this is now my conundrum Thanks in advance..

http://instagr.am/p/BwgqgKAgbcU http://instagr.am/p/Bi0Bq8aHgbf Not mine,, I just saw these. Looks like that angled surface above the lugs is originally polished. I was looking because I have one of these and a 6119-6020 waiting for me to work on them. Edit- just saw Tom's post. He ought to know, he has quite a few of those! Thanks! This helps allot.

Mike this one has NEVER BEEN WORN so the lines and finish are 1000% as they left the factory.
For the record this is a 6119-6023 from August 1972 that still has the case back sticker too ! Let me know if you need more up-close details, etc. Mike your case work and refinishing is a pleasure to behold. Keep on keepin' on my friend.

Final post: Here is my collection, Blue/Gold/Black/Silver/Green. Tom (SeikoPyscho) was kind enough to sell me the green dial on the far right.
I guess it is obvious I love these references.

Thanks Pal. envious on too many levels here, firstly you have an August 1972 watch!!! that is my birth month and year and something that even with my 100 Seikos I have still not found.... Epic! Then there is your Ramon find which is better, plus has a bracelet and these are 19mm ones so we know how rare the original ones of those are and its got a clean dial. Seeing all the colours together does not help either as it makes me want to have them all!

WOW!! Jon, that unworn example is excellent and should help a lot. There's a small facet on the polished side of the case right at each lug that's easy to polish away if you're not careful I bet. Yours shows how it should be. Nice group you have there! I saw a green one for sale recently but I forget where...

Yes that facet is an absolute pig! especially as my case looks like its been shot blasted. I am trying to retain them but there may have to be some compromise in the end. If I properly mask off with kapton tape then there is a good chance I can keep them but may end up with less sharp edges as a result. Its all fun!
