What is this one? You don't see many watches anymore with the coffin indices and that handset. I like it. It's a reissue. Sheffield Watches was relaunched recently by a guy who had been given an original Sheffield Allsport when he was a kid. That had a pin lever movement in it and not great WR. He wanted to release something as close to the original as he could but with an automatic movement and 200m WR. He also wanted to keep the pricing sensible. I like his attitude and approach so I pre-ordered one in December and it arrived a week or two ago. I ended up buying another of his as a grab and go option. The website is sheffieldwatches.com/ The quartz watch is below. I would have preferred it with the fancier Sheffield logo, but the price is only £87 so hard to complain. I'm a sucker for something that's a bit different!

In case anyone is interested, the owner of Sheffield posted that he's going to add some PVD/black cased versions of the Allsport to the website later today. The steel cased version is out of stock currently, but he'll have less than 50 black cased available with more coming in the summer. I don't have any link to the owner, I just bought a couple of his watches.

For some reason, this watch looks very familiar. I may have had one (maybe smaller) when I was a kid. That brand just kicks off some brain cells that probably haven't been used in 50+ years.

They had a big presence in the US in the late sixties and early seventies. Photo below of a vintage example. There's a review here with a bit of info on them www.thetimebum.com/2023/09/sheffield-allsport-1.html
