Fergus, I remember one such game in my youth. For a time I was playing my Father at chess every night. He would continuously wipe the board with me and I recall my Mom getting upset with him about it but he wouldn't relent. There was an argument that ended in her coming to me later telling me that if I beat him she would give me $5 (a fortune to a 7 or 8 year old boy in the 1970s). So I tried and tried and tried and finally one night I managed to beat my Father. He was pretty sheepish about it, especially when I called my Mom on the phone (at the time she was working nights) and told her with great excitement and fanfare how I'd beat my Dad. I got my $5, but we never played a game again. Such a pity, because I'm sure I could have learned more. So I hope those games keep on going and there are more celebrations and shared moment of joy
Citizen 4-822145 Paddle Hands 51-2273 for me today. Will attempt a noon rocketship photo. We'll see if I can do any better than victor We need some more competition though, calling TinkeringFR , his coworkers, and others too!

We have been playing over 4 years and from the outset I told him I would always be playing to win and not to expect a free meal. I’m not a good player but competitive. Early games I would win but now he can outgun me…sometimes very quickly.

I didn't get the rocketship photo story. I certainly have missed something the last fews days. My work kept me a bit far from wrist sushi. I've played a bit around crown tubes this weekend when I had some time and tried to publish something, but imgur and their problems have finally turned me off. So you said "paddle" ?

I was rushed to take the photo because I'd left my phone in my office and was in the conference room just as noon arrived. I ran back and just barely got this one take. It's blurry but better than Sunday's attempt!
