Watched this on the other night, worth the time... If it lives up to the descriptions in the trailer, it ought to be good.

Watched "Inherent Vice" the other night. Save your money & your time, it sucked. As much as I like Joaquin Phoenix, this was a poor attempt in trying to create a 70's version of the Big Lebowski. The Dude would definitely not abide!

"Happy Valley" a BBC production and a Netflix exclusive....great writing....great acting....interesting story line....Sarah Lancashire is a revelation. Season one is a six part series....season two is being shot right now in England. I loved seeing the difference in the police in England....how they go about things...and I enjoyed the different terminology for people, places, and things. BTW...it is NOT a comedy. One suggestion: If you're based in the USA I would suggest keeping the close-captioning on or you will miss a lot phrase-wise. Catherine Cawood is my new cinema hero.

Not a movie but I bought the miniseries on John Adams and have been watching it over time. This has led me actually to start reading about John Quincy Adams who was a very extraordinary person.

RIP Mac Dre archive.org/details/AmericanGangster-TheRomperRoomGangEDIT: I hope everyone has better luck than me streaming it or if you have NEtflix or any of those othrer "Pay Per View" services I highly recommend you watch this episode (or the whole series) At the time high school wasn't all that but 20 years later I wish I was back there and I would do it almost exactly the same.

Sons Of Liberty was also a great 3 episode mini series about the founding fathers centered around Sam Adams (I only watched it because of the beer connect) which if historically correct gave me some new insight about what the colonist had to endure and as a coin collector as much as I miss Miss Liberty on our current (or going on 100 years now) coinage it gave me new respect to what the founding fathers contributed and deserved to be recognized for their accomplishments.

Not bad but I'd have to say Bosch is the best actor by far. In the UK we only get series 1 for free series 2 we have to pay around $35 to watch!

Just watched Our World War which is 3 part series about British involvement in WW1. I highly recommend it. I have decided to concentrate some reading on the first 25 years of the 20th century. The series is available on Netflix.

I would highly recommend you catch Mike Meyer's documentary titled SuperMench, a story of the life & times of legendary promoter Shepard Gordon.

Watched "Interstellar" tonight. I like science fiction movies, but I thought this one was an absolute bomb (and 169 minutes of it )

If you read the comments, you'll see that the majority of people simply want to be sppon fed the entertainment and not have to lift a single brain cell. This movie is definitely not for couch potatoes. It's the same reason why most of the really good tv series die early deaths...most people who watch tv don't want to have to think. This is why all the CSI and crime shows are so popular; the actors do nothing but read line after line at the audience explaining everything so they get it. Hollywood is one of it's own worst enemies. It dumbs down films and series so that the average trailer park dweller can understand then gets reviews like this one when they do something intelligent and intriguing.
