I’ve just done some googling and there doesn’t appear to be a Pogue Day which is a shame. Should we at WS start one? I know that 16th November 1973 was the day William Pogue was launched into space, so that would be the day that the 6139-6005 (99.9% certain it was a 5) became the first auto chrono in space. Maybe on 16th November we should all wear a 6139-600x for the day. Do you think this would have legs if we spread the word? Or am I just a sad tosser?

GREAT Idea - Worldwide National Pogue Day November 16th

Tremendous stuff. I’m hooked on the look, no ifs ands or buts about it. Last year’s Pogue Day I said ‘maybe’ I’ll be able to join in with my own. Today, I’m saying ‘hopefully’ I should also note that my phone automatically capitalized the “D” in Pogue Day. How about that?

A NEW TRUE "POGUE" ARRIVED. February 1971 ALWAYS AMAZED BY THIS DIAL... Beautiful piece Bert. Has it been re-lumed? The triangle on the rotating bezel looks a bit "sloppy" to be a Seiko factory job but then again, what do I know?

Bill Pogue's SL-4 flown Teleprinter Page This piece of heat sensitive paper was used aboard the United States first space station, Skylab to print uplinked instructions for the Skylab III (SL-4) crew. At the time SL-4 Pilot Bill Pogue received the Teleprinter message he signed "done" over tasks that were complete. On its reverse, using a pen (and ink) that was also flown aboard the station, SL-4 Pilot Bill Pogue certifies the paper as having flown over 100 million miles (over 4,300 orbits) between May 14, 1973 and February 8, 1974, from the day the station was launched to the day he landed. The teleprint page measures approximately 12" by 3" and is from Pogue's personal collection. - SEIKO 6139-6005 WATER 70M RESIST- Novembre 1971 - Replica pogue's watch 6139-6005 WATER 70M RESIST March 1971
