Awesome thing of beauty - Colin Chapman, along with Richard Noble are my childhood heros... The sight of JPS Lotus still sends shivers down the spine. What's the connection to John Player? Doesn't look like a packet of fags to me...? The funny thing about that is John Player Special cigarettes, to my knowledge, were never sold in the US in great numbers. If at all? So the only connection many Americans have to the name is having seen the black-and-gold JPS livery on Lotus race cars in the '70s and '80s. I didn't know "John Player Special" referred to a brand of cigarettes until I was well into my 20s!
