Time for a battery change on the 6M26. It's ticking in 2-second intervals. That means digging out the instruction manual to perform the reset procedure(s) after the change. (So it went 2.5 years since the last change, which is not great, but it probably would have been less if I used the stopwatch features.)

I believe you can dispense with the reset if you swap out the battery in under 3 minutes...at least that's the way it works on the other perpetual calibres.

I have to reset Perpetual Calenders all the time.. fun fun. Get an Eco-Drive PC. Set once and forget unless you fail to keep it charged or, in some models, give it a hard knock or expose it to certain magnetic fields. My E-D PC (module E760) has been reset twice since acquisition in 2005; both times my fault for knocking it a bit hard. And complete discharge of a solar watch doesn't happen in this household.

They still make quartz watches? The only quartz watch of late I have warmed up to is my Alpinists.

They still make quartz watches? They'll probably be around for a while. Future generations may ask, "They still make mechanical watches?" (Or, "They still make watches?")
