I like the look of these, but one thing worries me - how legible are the main hands? There seems to be little contrast and they look a bit lost on the otherwise very attractive dial.
Interested to hear from owners about legibility....

drooling-sign-smiley-emoticon I forgot all about these babies. I wish they made them in an automatic model. Looks like another Seiko has made its way to my must have list. a115

I can feel the itch in my finger getting worse . . . laugh1.gif Hey I just read this... Yes it's a great watch. Quartz dependability on a watch design that's a nod to the early Bullhead. It's a favorite grab-and-go watch for me. Based on initial pictures on the internet, I too had concerns regarding legibility. I ignored it and got the watch anyway and honestly speaking it's really a non-issue. The design is such that you can easily (intuitively) read the time. This holds true even in low light because the watch has lume (not as good as an 007's though). The watch is fantastic on the wrist! I like the clunkiness of the pushers and the bigger crown which make it really stand out. On paper the early Bullhead's diameter is 43mm while the SCEB009's is 40mm. In the real world the quartz looks bigger because the design of the bezel maximizes the size of the case so it would appear that the quartz version watch face is larger than that of the old Bullhead. I will post some comparison pics as soon as I get home later. In terms of thickness, the watch is a few mm thicker than an SKX007. In terms of straps, I hear the original bracelet is really well made and comfortable but I replaced it as soon as it arrived and opted for a Nato. Nato are a PITA to put on any of the Bullheads! Then I found the DiModelle Rallye strap that it has now (with dark gray stitching). I think it gives it a more vintage feel. I will try to post some comparison pics with the 007. Unfortunately, my office laptop will only let me access the rest of WristSushi but will not let me access this thread/post! WTF?! I am using an iPad now but find it difficult to link pics. As soon as I'm able, you'll see the pics.

Is that the astronaut or spacewalk or whatever model or did Seiko make another bullhead chrono recently?
I think the astronaut / spacewalk / whatever limited edition model one was an auto.

Success with the pics! Re: the Bullhead re-issue being quartz not automatic. Well I for one am happy about it! If they made it automatic, I wouldn't be able to afford it and enjoy it. So I'm thankful for that.

I don't have the watch but from feedback of several owners, all of them are happy with their money spent. In particular when I reminded them the Seiko bullhead do share the set of hands with Daytona.

Ok just got a crash course in the Izul. 2007? Who knew? Wow.
How rare are these things? Can they be found? New they were around $8k...if they ever come up, how much do they go for?
Who has one?
Help....I'm possessed!

Help....I'm possessed! These things are exceptionally rare. Someone posted with theirs on either WUS or SCWF a while back and I had the reaction you're having now. I'd guess they will be more expensive than retail to buy now. Maybe $10k+. The Spacewalk is available at original price, though, so maybe you might be able to find one closer to $8k. There's a nice article on horologium: horologium.com.au/2012/10/01/hands-on-with-seikos-rare-izul/

These were reviewed I seem to remember on the SCWF and the verdict was not good basicly non screw in back case, (snap back) the fit and feel was cheap and nasty. also the quartz movement was a non stand out 7T59 I believe. Save some more funds if you can and go with a vintage Seiko Chronograph. Just my thoughts (and others) Cheers Mark
