Hello, Can anyone tell me if I can swap parts between the SKX 031 and 007? (7s26 0040 and 7s26 0020) I read on here that the bezel inserts are not compatible and I guess the dials will have legs in different places due to the crown position but what about the chapter rings and crystal? Could I use a domed crystal from the 031 on a 007? Has anyone tried this? Thanks!

The SKX-007/009 series and the midsized SKX-031/033 are completely different animals in regards to parts interchanging. There are but just a few parts that can be used between them.
Obviously the movement is the same between those models and the casebacks can also be readily swapped, however thats really it for direct compatibility.
To further answer you questions about dials and crystals, the dials between the models can be swapped, but you will need to clip off the dial feet and used dial adhesive strips to install the dial. this is due to the dial feet being located in different locations in regards to the crown orientation. ie, the skx031 has a 3 o'clock crown and the skx007 has a 4 o'clock crown. also the day wheels are different between those models due to crown orientation.
crystals are not cross compatible between the skx007 and skx031

Hi Shawn, Thanks for the detailed reply, I did not realise the 031 was classed as mid size, I always thought that due to the bezel being almost the same size as the 007 it was a full size watch, I think there's only 0.5mm between them.

That's my impression too. It (7S26 0040) is slightly smaller than the 007 by a few mm but most regard it as a 'large' when compared to it's mid sized version the 7S26 0050. At least this is what I've learned about this watch, somebody feel free to correct me if I'm mistaken. I've recently had a huge interest in the SKX031 and very curious as to what parts I can swap for it so I too am doing some research.
Let us know how your's turns out!

Hi mate, After owning a SKX031 for a few months now I am looking for a second one, they are very nice watches. You are quite correct it is a full size diver and the 0050 is the mid size version but unfortunately no 0040 bits are compatible with the SKX 007. However, there are quite a few aftermarket bits available, Dagaz has a wide range of compatible dials and a few bezel insets and chapter rings, and a huge range of hands. I went for a classic FFF tribute look with my one. I've recently ordered a pile of new bits for my next one, I'm going for a Tudor BB tribute, I'll be fitting a new dial, hands , red bezel insert, polished chapter ring and a hand made ostrich leg skin strap I'll get some photos up when it's built.

^ Nice! The NATO works too.
I just got mine this afternoon. It is a nice watch but I'm quite disappointed with the play of the bezel, there's too much!
Is this normal or it just needs a gasket/part or what not?
Plus after close inspection, I see that the chapter ring paint looks like total crap. Good thing it is intended for a project and will be sent off to Harold tomorrow. I wonder if he has any chapter rings for this one.
Where did you get your polished chapter ring?
Thanks.

Hi, Your bezel will be missing a gasket as there should be no play, you can get them from Dagaz. You can also get the polished chapter rings from Dagaz too. Post some pics of you r watch once it's done mate!
