Hard to believe some of the purchases made on the 'bay at times. This poor soul certainly spoke to a buyer, to the tune of ~$85 or so, if my conversions are correct. I do like the inner rotating ring, these are so often faded, but the rest of the dial side...ehhhh.... Yowza! D.

I do like a 'challenge'.
That said, I bought this purely for the donor parts.

Cool! I've scrapped watches 10x better than that for the spares inside In fact I have a silver proof and a yellow resist dial in my scrap bag that look A++ compared to that.

I do like a 'challenge'. That said, I bought this purely for the donor parts. Provided that black inner rotating ring is in good shape and works you've recouped half (IMO) your money right there. Good black rings like that are pretty hard to find. The back of the movement looked ok, I think it was even listed as working! You're going to turn a sow's ear into a silk purse! Dan

I just paid $40 for a NOS rotating ring. So $80 may not be so bad when the dust settles. Good crown and unobtainable stem gear.

Your lucky you got that bezel hibeat as I was offered the two of them and turned it down as I have them already NOS. Look lovely with NOS bezel it has to be said.
That's cool siralan I didn't read this properly earlier. $85 is a bargain for the parts. Off hand:
1) Inner bezel in good nick £35 2) Outer bezel in good nick £25 3) Chrono center wheel if it's ok £40-50 4) Winding stem with gear £100.
£205 just for those parts so 55 quid is a total steal.
I'd consider that a bargain for parts personally and it'll likely get 2 or 3 watches back up and running. I had to replace a escape wheel in a pogue today because it hadn't been oiled ever and the pivot had worn to nearly nothing. Lucky I have a few scrappers around or I'd have been royally screwed.

Good to see a breakdown on parts prices. :winner: I have acquired 4 6139's over the last month or so in various conditions, Hoping to make 3 beauty's out of the 4

If we could get that here I'd have several adds on the sales forum.

Well, I did my own mental math before bidding and figured I'd be spending £110 if I wanted the parts I'm pretty sure I can harvest from this.
So, that's what my high bid was. It might sound crazy to some, but that's how it is.
To pick it up for what I paid is therefore as Tony points out, a steal.
And, I have plans for this one ............

Those prices are accurate as I buy these parts from all over the world including 'over the pond' when I see them available. Luckily I have a good stock of winding stems, gears, springs and crowns all NOS otherwise I'd not be able to make a profit on a Pogue if it needed the complete sherbang.

I must say that if a stem with gear for a Pogue goes for 110 GBP, which is about $150 USD, then it makes no sense that beater rotating ring 6139's sell for way less all the time.
What gives ?

The watch was waiting for me at home on Wednesday - how's about that for super fast delivery!! I couldn't resist taking a quick look to see what I've got. Summary: a very good condition bezel and bezel insert a perfect crown, stem, spring and gear a good inner dial (tachy) ring. No damage to the teeth, some loss of silver paint to the markings a usable crystal gasket a perfect gasket ring a perfect tension spring for the inner dial ring one good pusher and spring a perfect case ring and spring a good caseback a good case (just some cosmetic damage to the non crown bottom side which can be re-finished without compromising the case lines) a good minute counter hand a perfect dial holding ring The movement is running like this (totally untouched so far): I think the dial is a write-off amazingly despite this damage (which I assume must be caused by water?), under the dial is clean once its cleaned this one should be a real good one. And a real bargain.

Crown/stem paid for, everything else is a bonus, great deal! Good news on the movement! knowing your restorations I have a feeling we'll be looking at a perfect specimen soon.

I've got a couple of B grade dark blue/black dials, both of which I've previously re-lumed (when I was practicing). I will most probably fit whichever looks best.
