Aloha , I do not have anything right at the moment for watch's but just did this last Saturday for a Little .... ( 8 year old Japanese / Filipino girl down the street as a gift.). She always ride's her bike on the sidewalk and see's me at the post box and she always says..... " Hi PAPA love You much and I give her a big hug ". Got and restored for her the ..... " Seiko Mickey Mouse " , and " Minnie Mouse " watch too few months back.
It took a whole ....1/2 hour to explain to her Dad and Mom that the computer was free so they told her it was alright and she took it. She is such a brilliant little thing, but her parents having some hard times right now. Her Dad just got layed off and her Mom worked till 4 months ago but now both collecting for now but job hunting. She is such a beauty too and very intelligent and I just wanted her to be happy also because she is so smart and intelligent also. So I built her this Big Desk Top and now she can do school work also. I put a .... ASUS M32N-SLI Mother Board in it , Nvidia Quatro video Card, 7-8 GB memory and some extras and a 600 GB hard drive , Corsair 700 Watt power unit, so there is a lot of room for her to use. I found this case a few house's down the street out for the trash 2 months ago so I took it. It is a ...( NZXT Full Tower ) too and almost brand new. I also a gave her a 20 inch monitor for it. She flipped out too and was very happy and she is now using it. Can not let a good mind go down when it can be helped, after all free parts too....." Nothing Lost at all ". Aloha... Louis

I mainly wanted the crystal gasket which was fortunately intact. My old 'professional' press use to smash 6139-600x crystals all the bloody time. So I brought a el cheapo press made in china off evilBay and I've not had a problem since. In fact I sold my expensive press about 2 weeks ago as I no longer used it as I've not had a single crystal break with the new cheapo tool yet. I have a feeling the problem is my old expensive one had imperial dies made in USA where as the new ones are metric.

That's very detailed. Is it a kit, or all made from scratch? Myles

How on earth did it manage to do that Tony? 6139-600x crystals are installed with thumb pressure only, it's the bezel that needs the press so it can be pushed fully home to hold the crystal in place. Just make sure the die is the correct diameter so that it acts on the bezel and doesn't touch the crystal.

The dies were made with a shallow step and a taper which didn't show up until I used a old car tuning trick and put some plasticine on the die. Then I could see what was happening but it did was not the same on every pogue case. The earlier cased watches were the only ones that it done this with. I could have made some more dies on the lathe but the cheap and easy option was to buy another press so I just brought a cheapy and job done. The press was branded Bulova.

That's very detailed. Is it a kit, or all made from scratch? Myles Thanks for looking Myles! Actually, it's a 1:18 die cast model. I take them apart and add lots of little details that really bring the model to life. It's my form of therapy. My fingers are too fat and my eyes to poor (should have listened to Mom) to work on watches so I fall back on my model building days as a kid and do this for fun. Here's another one the I completed a while ago:

Only problem was that the rear main seal leaked and my Dad didn't want to deal with that so we moved on. I remember that car like it was yesterday. Had the BEST black paint I've ever seen . . . . looked a mile deep and not a single swirl on the car. I really like the '65 Impalas . . . great body style and 300 HP is pretty stout. I do like the L-78 327/350 option . . . . now that is a screamer!!

Unless you own a Rover as they had little plastic bits to put the buckle onto when it wasn't in use Great model making! I use to scratch build old ships such as Victory, Vasa and the bounty. Each model would take about 6 months to a year to complete depending on scale. I made a 12ft long Titanic model for a museum in Southampton which took 2 years! I had to make it in sections so you could see inside. That business didn't last long as it was long gaps between pay days!
