THAT is one awesome collection!!!! IMHO Tuna divers work with a wide range of different types of straps. I prefer them on rubber and especially isofrane rubber straps or nato straps but they look great on mesh bracelets too...

I was referring to the indents around the bezel, probably the incorrect term...but it is what it is. Haha! I like it! I'm gonna use that from now on!

Yes, although two of them aren't real Tunas... The Orange monster and the one on the far right? How long have you had your 007? Correct. The orange one is a modded '78 7548-700H 150m quartz diver and the one on the right is a '85 7c46-6009 aka Ashtray. The sbbn007 is my third one which I bought last year. I had two, but sold both of them stupidly...

For my $745, the SBBN015 is the perfect watch...bar none. Looks great, wears great, keeps great time, and is bomb-proof. Mine came with a loose double-domed AR sapphire crystal (a Yobokies, I think), which I just got finished installing. So my 'perfect' watch just got better! The bracelet is great, but I am thinking about ordering a black Seiko 22mm nylon for it.

Closest I can get to a Tuna. SPR227 with a Yobokies shroud. Much less $ than a real Tuna and quite a good watch. Excellent accuracy and value for $.

This isn't a "tuna" per se, but it's the closet rendering of one at least in my collection.

Perfect size, awesome bezel, beautiful dial, keeps good time. I've worn my dads a little and honestly, I just can't keep my eyes off my wrist when I do. Thanks for sharing, love the Yobokies double-dome too!

Oh man! This picture is sick! You could advertise for Seiko. Looks like you really put the Tuna to the test! Mine's just gonna be a desk diver when I get it.

Doesn't the shroud just collect a ton of dirt? I want one, but this thinking has kept me from getting one.

For my $745, the SBBN015 is the perfect watch...bar none. $745 The 300M used to go for $400 new or $325 used back in the day before Seiko tried to dump their many years of bread and butter department store heritage adn try to rebrand themselves. I paid $175 for my Seiko Chronometer that I traded straight up for my 300M Tuna back in the day. Maybe I am old school but to mee the 300M is still a $400 watch. Maybe when a common Seiko 5 has a current market actual selling price of $300 I will believe the 300M is worth it. And to try to milk the market dry Seiko has a bunch of faux Tuna models to cash in as of late. Is the real Tuna a great watch and a great design? Yes. Is it worth 2X or 3X the price overnight cuz they raised the MSRP? Absolutely not.

And to try to milk the market dry Seiko has a bunch of faux Tuna models to cash in as of late. Is the real Tuna a great watch and a great design? Yes. Is it worth 2X or 3X the price overnight cuz they raised the MSRP? Absolutely not. I agree, and I was also annoyed when Seiko did this. Problem is, nice SBBN007s that sold for $400 in 2005 are selling for $600+ now! Wish I had bought a bunch of them! Some Rolex price action here...when a new Sub started costing $2000 in the 1980s, the exact same Sub from ten years earlier that sold for $250 suddenly became worth much more than it sold for new. The same is true of the early SBBNs and their 300m 7549 predecessors. I bought my 7549-7010 for about $250 when the SBBNs were cheap. Couldn't touch one for that now, and prices on them spiked when Seiko jacked the prices on the new models. I think some of the finer details of the newer models are a bit nicer than the old SBBN007s, but they mostly got expensive because it is now a Marinemaster. I guess Seiko thinks this mild exclusivity is worth some extra scratch? Even at only $400, I never liked the SBBN007s black-on-silver bezel. The SBBN015 fixed that for me. And the steel/titanium bracelet on the 015 is quite nice, something that wasn't offered on the old ones. Mine was actually a pretty good deal. The guy had just bought it from Chino in December, ordered a $100 sapphire for it, and then needed some quick cash. He wore it once or twice. Normally, new ones hover around $850-$900! Worth it? Yep. Relatively speaking, I think they were UNDER priced ten years ago. And they seem to hold their value pretty well. Really nice used ones generally don't sell for too much less than new ones...if you can find one for sale. Used ones are pretty few and far between.
