Incomming, and thrilled that I still find cool Seiko's I've never seen before. Wow! Funky. Very cool.

Some years ago I bought a Citizen Chronometer Officially Certified with a good movement, hands and dial, but with a fairly average case and crystal. Looks like a replacement case has come up - with the original cut glass crystal in what is hopefully reasonable condition.. Awesome! Don't ya love it when you find exactly what you're searching for on Yahoo JP? Always feels like finding buried treasure to me.

Haha, nice I tossed one bid on that and forgot all about it. Glad it made it to here anyway

Haha, nice I tossed one bid on that and forgot all about it. Glad it made it to here anyway Thanks, I got really lucky with the timing on this. I saw this listing with 2 minutes left on the auction. I was about 85% sure it was correct after frantically trying to do as much due diligence as I could in 2 minutes. Took a chance and won. I've got it ear marked for one of my 6139-601x's already. Both headed to the spa in the new year.

A very unusual piece. This is running the 5800 movement to power along at 43200 bph (12 bps). Heavily jeweled up (16 jewels) for an electronic movement.

After a three year search, a very kind and great forum friend has found a set of these first generation frosted hands for a 6139-6000 (early 1969). Now I can put the finishing touches to a Mar-69, 6139-6000. The best Christmas present I could have wished for! I'll review all when they arrive as I don't want to put a curse on the "postal system"!!

I've never heard of this movement before. Looks like I have some reading up to do on Citizen quartz movements this weekend. This is a moving-magnet balance wheel type movement. It’s the last iteration of this moment that began with the early Cosmotrons in late 1965. Some of these pieces, containing what is known as the IC-12 movement, have IC-12 denoted on the dial, and tend to go for decent money. It is a pity that the piece I picked up doesn’t have a second hand. The smooth movement of the second hand would be a real feature.

I do love the smooth seconds hand sweep of these types of Quartz movements. One of the reasons I've always wanted to own an Accutron. Haven't gotten around to buying one yet though.

Some other parts I have found have included a 62MAS dial and a winding click for a 45GS. Kind of like the Hogwarts Room of Requirement. Nice! My best find was a GS/KS45 NOS mainspring/barrel (part # 205 451) still in the sealed protective packaging. Picked it up from a guy who was selling off a retiring watchmaker's parts on Yahoo JP that had it listed as "Seiko Mainspring" without putting any model reference number in the title or description whatsoever. There were a few others bidding on it, but I still got it for under $90. Crazy to pay that for a mainspring, but I've only seen one other NOS GS45 spring in the packaging pop up in the last year, and that one went for over $150. They're rarer than hens teeth. I think the interest was lower on this one because the seller didn't list the part or model # in the listing. I just happened to be browsing "セイコー" in Yahoo JP and saw it pop up. If it had been listed as "GS45 spring" I'm sure it would've gone for much more. PS: love the Hogwarts reference.
