I have been a good boy lately and haven't bought anything for quite a while. I am especially proud of the fact that I talked myself out of spending $550 on a 36mm Glycine Airman No. 1 "Purist" in white. I also did something completely out of character last month...I sold four watches I don't wear. So I thought I deserved a little treat. And 'little' it is!
This is a 7C43-6010 from September of 1987. Seiko made two basic 7C43 divers back in the 1980s: the -6010 is a 'mid-size' and the -7010 is a 'full-size'. Opening bid was reasonable but not dime-store money, and as it turns out I was the only one who wanted it. Still a fraction of what is being asked on Ebay. I am okay with what I paid because I have been chasing either a 6458 or 7C43 vintage JDM quartz diver for quite some time, and have lost out on a number of them. I have been wearing relatively small JDM watches for so long now that I have come to find standard-sized Seiko divers to be too large as of late. The 7C43s usually sell high, and the 6458s seem to have gotten much more expensive since I decided I wanted one.
I am sure the original strap disintegrated years ago, but it does still have some blue film on the case back!

After mulling this one over for years now, I finally pulled the trigger: I'll be letting go of my Sumo and thought I'd need something blue to fill the void and finally decided to go for the Grand Touring. Could always use more Citizens, they're so overlooked compare to Seikos.

I’ve been eyeballing this model for a while. This example should arrive in a few days An unveiling/write up/show off your new sexy watch thread would be much appreciated when this comes in please. It has arrived youtu.be/JK3sybbrI0U Not in terrible shape. Could use a crystal or maybe just a polish. 1970. Ballerina case back. Maybe 10 seconds slow per day, needs service as the day changeover is hung up. And fortunately there was no sign of melted gasket.

This is apparently Seiko's first Kinetic dive watch, the 5M23-7A00. Production started in 1992, and very early models were marked "Auto Quartz". Shortly thereafter, the "AGS" designation appeared. This example dates to 1993. Reference number is SBBW001.
Apparently, Seiko considers it a 'milestone' in the history of the company.
These were 70,000 yen new, but tonight it was worth $34(!) at auction. Sold. Wasn't really looking for one, but I would have puked if it had gone to somebody else for $20. Will it run? Who knows...

. Yikes! There must have been 16 expensive watches on auction that I wanted this week! I can only afford 1, 2 or 3 of them (depending on which ones I choose), but since they all end at different times on different days, how do you manage this?? Do you let one that ends earlier go, so you can bid on one that ends later? But what if the first one goes cheap and you are outbid on the later one?? So far I have been fortunate, in that a couple of the early enders have "rolled over" with no bidders. Still, it is a bit of a stressful situation! ****************************************************************** Meanwhile I did buy a couple of items this week. The first is this all gold 6R15 SARB, a Seiko SARB038. Probably a 2008. Not really my style, but without being to aware of it I seem to be collecting every 6R15 SARB model ever made!! ****************************************************************** I also bought this nylon "bund" style Seiko strap for 22mm lugs, for what will end up being US$60, by the time I pay for fess and shipping. "Thomas?", you ask, "Why would you pay 60 bucks for a dumb nylon bund strap, even if it is from Seiko???"" Well, because this is actually the "optional" strap that is provided with the very hard to find, limited edition, Seiko SARB063. I have one of these watches that I have not unboxed, that has this strap, but I thought I would pickup another one, either in case the strap with the watch is not perfect, or to wear while keeping one unworn, or perhaps to wear with my SARB061 or SRAB059. So, am I forgiven?? - Thomas .

Another non-Japanese watch. Massdrop keeps putting these up, and I had a credit, sooo. Apparently the mov’t is a knockoff of a Valjoux 7750 variant. I’d read mixed reviews of it but so far after a couple hours in my possession it appears to be pretty good quality. The bracelet clasp is stupid and you have to nearly dislocate your thump to put the watch on, otherwise it’s a fairly nice watch.

"Firsts" are a great thing to collect. Very distinctive design too. Very good.

Interesting. Is it a Chinese movement on the inside? Hahaha! Versus on my wrist? You said its a Valjoux 7750 knock off. I was just curious as to what was powering the watch.
