Is that your new requisition? The "water resist" is so crisp 👍

Isn't the HONG KO dial a fake?

The hands, too aswell as the insert as Tim mentioned.
Rob, no surely not, the hk dials I really like. The non suwa version is my favourite. There was the very small text dial code at 6 version that doesn't seem to be about as much as the others but again that one is confirmed to be legit. Do you know the one I mean? What made you think the hk ones were fakes?

Also, can't see the bevel on the date window, it tends to be less pronounced on later HK dials, but it's always there. 'HONG KO', instead of the full 'HONG KONG' was always grounds for instant disqualification. ( Just my take on this) Rob

Interesting, though and not sure if I'd heard of those dials before. Will do some looking around tomorrow. The bevel was shallower on some I recall, but do other aspects seem legit (text ok, dial code under 6 marker and not in between etc?) Anyway shall remind myself to look into these versions.

Isn't the HONG KO dial a fake? Rob Yes, it is an AM dial. If it was available from Seiko at the same time then it would be a fake. The proper dial should have Hong Kong on it.

And yes... And I didn't even spot the text in the dial there to spark you saying that... Didn't pay enough attention *slaps face *.
So yes I see what you mean and now I notice that abbreviation and then I paid more attention to the text I see more issues there. So entirely fake reproduction, then.... Cheers Rob.

Hi All, I have recently downsized quite a lot and kept this 6309-7040 as it was by far the best in my collection. its a complete and all original Feb 1977. Unpolished case and never tampered with. just had her serviced and had a Kanji daywheel installed. Absolutely love it. Attachments:

So my buddy sent me a pic of one he is looking at. Insert looks AM. It's unfortunate that he did not heed my advice about buying one of the mosted messed with model Seiko. Found out he bought another one here is the second one he bought.
